Walt Disney World has adjusted the operating hours for Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Kali River Rapids this weekend as an Extreme Cold Warning keeps temperatures in the 20s and wind chills dropping to single digits across the Orlando area.
Both water rides are running on reduced schedules Sunday, February 1 and Monday, February 2, with later openings and earlier closings than normal.
Adjusted Hours
Tiana's Bayou Adventure (Magic Kingdom)
- Sunday, February 1: 11 AM - 7 PM
- Monday, February 2: 11 AM - 8 PM
Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)
- Sunday, February 1: 12 PM - 6 PM
- Monday, February 2: 11 AM - 6 PM
Both attractions are closing earlier than their standard operating hours and opening significantly later than normal. Kali River Rapids has the shortest window, running just six hours on both days.
Why the Changes
The adjustments come as the National Weather Service has an Extreme Cold Warning in effect for all of east central Florida. Current conditions this morning show temperatures have already broken daily records, with lows in the low-to-mid 20s and wind chills between 9 and 15 degrees.
Tonight Into Monday Morning
The cold does not let up tonight. Another Extreme Cold Warning is in effect from 7 PM tonight through 10 AM Monday morning.
Monday Morning Forecast:
- Low temperatures: Low-to-mid 20s
- Wind chills: 14 to 20 degrees
- Hard freeze conditions expected
Daytime highs Monday will only reach the 50s, which is why Kali River Rapids closes at 6 PM on both days. Even with the later opening on Monday, conditions remain well below comfortable for water ride riders.
