The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District has updated its board member list, removing the last two original appointees from when the district took control of the Disney World area in 2023.
Bridget Ziegler and Brian Aungst Jr. no longer appear on the CFTOD board roster, completing a full turnover of the original five-member board.
Ziegler and Aungst were the last remaining members from the five Governor Ron DeSantis appointed in February 2023 when the Reedy Creek Improvement District was replaced by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.
Ziegler was one of the authors of Florida's Parental Bill of Rights law, which became central to the dispute between Disney and Governor DeSantis. The controversy began when Disney opposed the legislation, leading to the state's takeover of the previously Disney-controlled district.
With their departure, all five original board members have now been replaced.
Current Board Composition
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board now consists of:
- Alexis Yarbrough - Chair
- David Woods
- Matt Ravenscroft
- John Gilbert
- Scott Workman
Woods and Ravenscroft are the newest additions, recently appointed by DeSantis pending Florida Senate confirmation.
