Walt Disney World has launched a new photography experience called Signature Portrait Sessions, offering private 40-minute shoots with professional Disney PhotoPass photographers at two of its most iconic resort hotels.

The sessions are currently available as part of a pilot program and cost $399.

What You Get

Each session includes up to 40 minutes with a specially trained Disney PhotoPass Portrait photographer and assistant, who use professional-grade photography and lighting equipment. Props are provided, and all photos are professionally retouched before delivery.

Most guests receive around 60 retouched photos, though the exact number depends on how many locations you visit and travel time between them.

Your booking includes:

  • Up to 40 minutes of photography and consultation
  • Access to props
  • Professional photo retouching
  • Downloads of all session images

Where Sessions Take Place

Sessions are available at four locations:

  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Both indoor and outdoor spots are available. Your photographer will recommend the best locations based on your group and goals. Locations can change due to weather or resort operations.

How to Book

Advance reservations are required. You can book up to 60 days ahead by emailing the Signature Portrait Experience Team at DisneyPortraitSessions@disney.com.

Full payment is due at booking. If you cancel within 24 hours or don't show up, you'll be charged the full $399.

What to Know Before You Go

  • Wedding attire is not permitted. For wedding photography, contact Disney Fine Art Photography and Video.
  • Guests 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older.
  • You can bring your own props, provided they comply with Walt Disney World Property Rules.
  • Photos appear in your Disney PhotoPass gallery within one week of your session via the My Disney Experience app or online. A MyDisney account is required.
  • If you want photos taken inside a theme park, Disney's existing Capture Your Moment service is the alternative.

No, he was not.

That would be marketing. That is not your average guest session. He worked for Yellow Shoes.

This is perfect for the VIP tour, LLPP folks. Not for the poor slobs like me.

Incorrect. David was indeed a Disney photographer. It was a commercial shoot for Scripps which owned several TV networks such as the Food Network at the time. If you watched the video, there are three segments one of each aired during the three commercial breaks in a typical half hour show. He was part of park photography and special events, definitely not part of the PR department. Granted this was 17 years ago so things may have changed.

Yes and no. You’re both right, imo. The rate is pretty standard for a decent photographer who does basic editing and touch ups. Yeah, Disney has crazy markups with tons of their products, but…this isn’t actually that outrageous of a price. Is it worth it to me? Absolutely not. I do not care for that style at all, and I personally think the photos look fairly basic and amateur. But that’s just MY opinion (my style is more bold and vibrant), and there are plenty of people out there who prefer photos to look more natural and straight out of the camera without a lot of editing. Disney has enough guests that they will be able to find enough people to fill these limited spots, I’m sure, even if the product isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But Disney definitely saw this was a want of guests, based on the number of third party photographers formerly getting work there. They did their homework, crunched their numbers, and they definitely landed on a price point enough people will pay, regardless of everyone else’s opinion.

Not for me, but to be fair I have a new iPhone ;)

This seems like marketing. Disney photographers with guests do not, can not shoot that way, including photopass or DFAP.

No, these are different.

Firecracker25 days ago

That was probably someone from marketing.

It says advanced

Burgermeister25 days ago

Actually, it is.

The photographer, we were in the commercial.

Of who's work?

Firecracker25 days ago

It's not the same gear. It's brand new Sony cameras, godox lighting, cast trained to use them.
