A new feature is in limited testing in the My Disney Experience app, giving users the ability to check product availability at World of Disney in Disney Springs.

Feature Overview

During the test, users can now use a Find Merchandise search function within the app to look up specific Disney merchandise. The tool allows users to:

  • Enter keywords or product names in a search bar
  • View top products and trending categories such as Holiday, Pins, Spirit Jersey, and Plush
  • See pricing and product details, including item numbers
  • Check whether items are currently in stock at the World of Disney store

The test currently limits results to a single location - World of Disney at Disney Springs - but the interface and functionality suggest that it could expand to other stores across Walt Disney World in the future.

Example Search

In the test version, searching for "Tower of Terror" returns several Disney pin designs, including:

  • Tower of Terror Donald Pin - $21.99
  • Tower of Terror Stitch Spinner Pin - $19.99
  • Tower of Terror Mickey & Minnie Pin - $14.99

Each listing includes an image, price, and availability status, along with an option to "Show Map" to locate the store within Disney Springs.

The feature is aimed at simplifying in-person shopping by allowing guests to confirm availability before visiting the store. This will reduce time spent searching for specific items and help guests plan shopping trips more efficiently.

Disney notes that this feature is still in testing, and feedback from invited users will help refine the experience before a broader rollout.

Kind of ironic as I had nibbles from Disney today for Lead Solutions Architect or Principle Software Architect. I guess their cost cutting experiment of offshoring their back of house operations isn't panning out.

Does anyone know how I get this to show up in my app? I’ve been refreshing and signing in and out all day and I still don’t see it.

Those old merch catalogs compared with what’s offered today… 😭

Even when you do find a CM that can look, the inventory numbers are wrong since it was updated only after park close. Maybe Maximo has been updated and SIMBA rewritten to handle higher usage numbers by swapping out the DB2 for something from at least the last decade.

They've been capable of doing this for well over a decade. All Disney CM's (literally across all divisions - even ESPN) have had access to park inventory for both WDW and DL. For anybody talking to a CM who doesn't know what to do - kindly ask them to check the Merchandise Product Locator ... I think the internal weblink for those within the disney network is mpl.disney.com but it's been awhile since I've used it.

Are they trying to kill impulse purchases?

In Ye Olden Days, I would call the special hotline phone number to the WDW Merchandising Department. A nice CM would then look up the item I was looking for and then happily tell me which shop stocked it on Property. As of a few years ago, one could still do this. I have not even mentioned how much money I spent in the 1980s buying product direct from WDW through ye olden WDW Merchandise Catalog. Now those were the days…and what merch! Still have all of it. Ahhh, the days before automation and the internet. And even before The Disney Store existed… -

This is years old, I remember using this feature back in 2015 to find my mother a Piglet plush as couldn't find one anywhere, not even in the Pooh ride gift shop, the app listed only one store on property had them and it was the store under Spaceship Earth of all places, and so I went there and they did indeed have it. Wonder why they got rid of it, proved very helpful.

This is a great feature! Which begs the question now.. I wonder if thanks to this, maybe we’ll get merchandise put in proper shops that fit more thematically and we start seeing unique & attraction/land specific merch in the shops again. 👍🏻

I've even supplied SKUs and pictures to no avail.

If you ask for a merch search specifically for talking about an item, they'll generally be more accurate than if you just asked them randomly about a specific item. (That's how they know they are being asked to use the CM version of this program that covers all of properly.) Your mileage may vary but it usually works for me.

It’s crazy to me that we’re only JUST getting this feature back after having it before. It was SO nice in the old app.
