Goodyear Blimp to take to the skies over Walt Disney World this week

Jul 29, 2020 in "Goodyear Blimp at Walt Disney World"

The Goodyear Blimp will be back at Walt Disney World this week to provide aerial pictures for ESPN.

Part of the coverage of the NBA games at ESPN Wide World of Sports, the blimp will be flying overhead from July 30 to August 2 2020.

The Goodyear Blimp has been at Walt Disney World several times over the years, with appearances at ESPN The Weekend in 2008 (pictured below), and in 2009 for coverage of the Christmas Parade for ABC.

I thought basketball was played indoors... kinda makes the blimp superfluous, doesn't it? Unless you want live shots of the roof of a building, much like they do during Super Bowls in domed stadiums...

Doubtful the blimp will see much airtime with Isasis (or whatever the heck they named it!) heading towards Florida.

Can they even get a good picture through the bubble? 🙂
