Homewood Suites and Home 2 Suites construction at Flamingo Crossings

Two new hotels are now under construction in Disney's Flamingo Crossings, located just outside the western entrance to Walt Disney World.

The construction site is almost directly across from the existing Marriott SpringHill Suites and Towneplace Suites that opened in 2016, and will include both a Home2Suites by Hilton and a Homewood Suites.

Both will feature around 250 rooms, with Homewood Suites being the upper-tier extended stay option, and Home2Suites the mid-tier option.

Although construction hasn't yet started, there will also be a Fairfield Inn and Suites, and a Residence Inn - both by Marriott.

The location in Flamingo Crossings is just outside the Western Way entrance to Walt Disney World (closest to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort), putting travel time to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom at around 5 minutes.

It caused a minor panic as I was driving in to stay at the Townplace with small kids in the car who were not going to be visiting Disney this trip. It was late. I was tired. I was convinced I was about to pop out at the MK resorts for a second lol.

That sounds great. I won't be travelling until the end of the year. (I'm making reservations early because I'm expecting a flood of travel and increased costs as Covid rates go down.) By then... who knows about fastpass!

When are you coming down? If it's soon, then I doubt fastpass will be available. With saying that Homewood suites was Homewood was modern, clean and the line of hotels there I think have a nice cohesive design to them. The pool is nice, and the breakfast was decent. The area isn't very busy, but the hotels are. However you will at times here your upstairs neighbors a bit, not their voice but sometimes footsteps and the chairs screeching across the floor. I've never stayed at the Doubletree. I will say if your coming down soon, I doubt fastpass will be here

That is your preference, which is fine. But its still true that the other one is closer to most actual residential areas.

Afford it? Sure. But they make the people staying at Caribbean Beach look at the Riviera so I don’t think they care about sight lines from the hotels.
