The Disney Destiny is one step closer to completion as the final structural block is now in place at the Meyer Werft shipyard. With construction progressing, attention has shifted to the ship's exterior details, including the reveal of its signature bow art—an iconic design element featured on every Disney Cruise Line vessel.

For the Disney Destiny, Minnie Mouse takes center stage, striking a heroic pose in a new ensemble that aligns with the ship's "Heroes and Villains" theme. With a cape billowing behind her, Minnie's outfit reinforces the ship's design direction, which will be reflected throughout the vessel.

Continuing a long-standing Disney Cruise Line tradition, the bow art features elegant, hand-painted filigree, a design hallmark dating back to the launch of the Disney Magic. Each Disney Cruise Line ship showcases a unique, character-inspired image on its bow, and the Disney Destiny's artwork keeps that legacy alive with Minnie Mouse leading the way.

The Disney Destiny is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 20, 2025. The four-night cruise will provide guests with a first look at the ship's features and include stops at both Disney Cruise Line's island destinations in The Bahamas—Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Following the maiden voyage, the Disney Destiny will continue with an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Each cruise will feature a day at either Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay. Some itineraries will include stops at both islands, while select cruises will offer additional destinations such as Nassau, Bahamas, and Cozumel, Mexico.

Dream Treasure Fantasy Magic (I haven't been on since 2012) Destiny Wish

joanna71985Dec 20, 2025

I have to say- I really enjoyed the Destiny! While my favorite show is still Moana, and favorite restaurant is Coco, I loved all of the little entertainment on the Destiny! I loved the 2 Storytellers, I absolutely loved Treble Making (I saw it multiple times), and I preferred the Marvel adult show over the Indiana Jones adult show

I don't care for the Wish-class layouts. The lack of theming compared to the Treasure and I'm not a huge Marvel fan. The entertainment on the Destiny was fantastic though.

Interested to hear why the Destiny was closer to the Wish than the Treasure in your rankings?

peter11435Nov 26, 2025

I think they are in some ways. But the new ships are superior in others.

And they're so much better than the new ones!

Just got off the maiden. My ship rankings: Dream Treasure Magic Destiny Wish I just booked the Fantasy for Christmas so I'll update my rankings then.

Hello everyone. I'm just making this post so I can hold myself accountable. I just got off the most recent Disney Treasure sailing and I have views. I was going to keep them to myself because I didn't know if I had the time or effort to write what could be a post of epic proportions (and to be honest I don't think my options haven't been shared elsewhere online) but seeing all the discussion today about the good and the bad of the Magic/Dream/Wish class ships has convinced me I need to share my views. So keep an eye out for my thread and I look forward to seeing your views.

Check further back in this thread (and in the Wish thread, especially)--you've called people who don't agree with you or who have a differing opinion "stupid", among other denigrating words. That's the very definition of intolerant. Differing opinions on the decor of a cruise ship is a far cry from "the earth is flat". By all means, disagree most strongly with that. One is a fact, the other an opinion. Your disdain for the classic ships and, more remarkably, for anyone who likes them is clear. I refer you to your own post #279 this afternoon, where you insulted an entire decade, and P.S., the Magic first set sail in 1998, which is pretty far removed from the 80s.

That's all I was saying to begin with. There is a decline in quality at least IMO. Doesn't mean the product is awful and doesn't mean the new ships aren't beautiful in their own right. The good news is there are more options now for everyone to choose from and choose what they prefer. I just am saying in general I don't like the lack of color and life in modern design which yes has also affected Disney resorts/cruise line.

They dont do chandeliers like this anymore because 1) the eighties is over and they are now viewed as incredibly ugly and 2) the modern chandeliers need lighting effects which greatly enhance the space.
