General registration for the 2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend opens today, July 7, at 10am ET on rundisney.com. The site is currently running a waiting room ahead of the 10am opening.

To get in line, visit the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend page and select "Enter Waiting Room." The page will refresh automatically — do not navigate away or refresh manually.

A few things to know before registration opens:

Placement in the registration waiting room is random, regardless of when you joined
Guests who arrive after registration opens at 10am will be placed at the back of the queue in first-in, first-out order
Your spot is not confirmed until payment is fully processed
A confirmation email will be sent to the address you provide

The Races

The event runs April 8–11, 2027, at Walt Disney World Resort. The theme is "Running Through the Years," celebrating the history of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

5K — April 9 | Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz | $125.00
10K — April 10 | Robin Hood, Prince John, and Sir Hiss | $175.00
10-Miler — April 11 | Alice and the Cheshire Cat | $239.00
Challenge (all three races, 19.3 miles) — April 9–11 | Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse | $555.00

Well run Disney fans I sincerely hope everyone that wanted to register for the Springtime Surprise race weekend 2027 achieved their goal. It's quite the process. One consistent thing about registering for Disney races, It Ain't Simple!

Maybe they should do a Running with goofy obstacle course. That should give the runners a good surprise. Can you survive the many pitfalls of disney. Anything from spilled mickey's premium bars to a tourist standing still in the middle of the track while looking at a map. So many pitfalls so many ways to have an accident if not careful.

Well i'm in the queue - not as early as seems like may have been smart. "May the odds ever be..." UPDATE - I'm in for the 10 Miler :). My only previous RunDisney event was in 2023 (same distance / Springtime Surprise), so I'm excited to go back.

Still makes no sense. Based on their own language, nobody joining after 10a should get a spot if people (like myself) who joined the waiting room early did not get a spot. And yet it happened exactly like that to me and others for both WineDine and Marathon.

So you can instantly be "randomly" put in the back of the virtual queue and not even have a shot in hell of paying them $$$ to register. OR Get a spot and then have the checkout process fail and wind up with nothing...but frustration and disappointment. Here's an idea Disney. Make it a week long event with 2 sets of each race during the week. So maybe instead of capturing a half week of captive guests who will stay at your hotels and patronize your parks, shops, and restaurants, you get more people throughout the course of the full week (2 weekends) to do the exact same.

And that's understandable. I also understand Disney's desire to sell spots for $1000+ per year to a few hundred people. It doesn't really affect that many people.

I agree, all AWD should get the head start. I think the back of C is not right for them. I was just pointing out that they don't get a big head start.

I was a charter member of club runDisney, full disclosure, I have not renewed my membership. The return does not justify the investment for me. I am happy to register with the masses. As for the wheelchair, push chair, blind and other participants with challenges I say they all should have a special 15-minute head start on the A corral, their own distinct start. I have nothing but respect for them and their support personnel. They absolutely should be allowed to be down range and clear of the start so they can enjoy their experience. The challenged participants, I have noticed, are the most polite, reasonable and respectful participants on course, unlike some of the able-bodied participants. My issue is with able bodied people that cannot cut the mustard, as in meet the pacing requirements, for corral placement so they buy a spot.

Mind you this is just for Platinum club members. I am a gold member and do not get this perk however I have a proof of time that typically still gets me in B anyways. Putting in a projected pace or time isn't exactly great either. People always lie on that. runDisney and Track Shack know that too but there isn't exactly a better system to prevent that. Most races as for an expected time or pace to help place you. Some races don't have any corralling system at all and just one start. B is not the front corral either. Club runDisney has been around since what 2019-ish now? so also nothing new either. I don't like that they get B mind you. However also, some of those that are "buying" B are also good enough runners to be there. It's not everyone who shouldn't be there. I know platinum members who are able to run those paces. Many people overlook the AWD athletes as well. They for marathon weekend started at the back of C. Push chairs trying to maneuver there is not easy at all. Visually impaired runners struggle in the crowds too.
