With Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 getting underway layer this week, Disney has published a weather policy page in the My Disney Experience app — a reminder that Florida's late summer and fall weather can be unpredictable on party nights.
At this time of year, late-evening thunderstorms are a regular occurrence in Central Florida, and over the past few years several party nights have seen entertainment disrupted or cut short due to weather.
The Party Goes On — With Some Exceptions
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will continue during most inclement weather. Rain alone won't cancel the event. However, thunder and lightning will affect what's available, particularly outdoor entertainment and some attractions.
Here is Disney's full published weather policy:
"Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will continue in the event of most inclement weather. If Magic Kingdom park is experiencing rain, thunder or lightning, please consider the following:
Attractions — Some Magic Kingdom park attractions will not be operational during inclement weather. Please check the Attractions page to see which experiences are available and to check their wait times. Please check with a Cast Member for more information on how inclement weather may impact attractions and entertainment offerings.
Wondering how to spend your time during an intermittent rainstorm? Trick-or-Treat Trails throughout the park will remain available even in the event of inclement weather. We also recommend shopping at the Emporium or grabbing a bite to eat at one of our quick-service locations while you wait for the rain to pass.
Important Information — Entertainment offerings, showtimes, attractions and experiences are subject to change without notice. Inclement weather conditions may affect outdoor entertainment."
What This Means in Practice
If you're at the park during a storm, here's what to keep in mind:
Attractions — Some Magic Kingdom attractions will not operate during inclement weather. Check the Attractions page in the My Disney Experience app for current availability and wait times.
Entertainment — Outdoor entertainment including the parade and fireworks is subject to change or cancellation during inclement weather. If a storm rolls in at the wrong time, there's no guarantee the Boo-to-You Parade or Not-So-Spooky Spectacular will run as scheduled.
Trick-or-Treat Trails — These will remain available even during inclement weather, so candy collection continues rain or shine.
How to Make the Most of a Rainy Night
Disney suggests a few ways to spend your time if a storm passes through:
- Continue trick-or-treating along the candy trails throughout the park
- Shop at the Emporium on Main Street
- Grab a bite at one of the many quick-service locations open during the party
Tips for Planning Around the Weather
If the fireworks or parade are your top priority, keeping an eye on the weather forecast before your party night is a good idea. The most common pattern in August and September is afternoon storms that clear by early evening — but late-arriving storms can still affect the entertainment later in the night. If weather is looking poor later in the night, prioritze entertainment earlier in the evening.
