It's part of the Disney MAGICAL!!! Green Conservation Environmental Stewardship Program (sponsored by Waste Management). Reuse, recycle, and reuse again. ;) I'm sure there's a DPB post for it somewhere, touting how MAGICAL!!! and wonderful it is. :p

Are they honestly playing that tired old 6-minute show “special” for NYE? No thanks. NYE is the worst holiday. Flag Day is more fun.

I haven't even watched a video of FitS for a long time. Saw it once or twice in the late 90's, before Wishes!.

More than likely, it's because of crowds. Fantasy in the sky fireworks is not hub-centric. Happily ever after is very hub-centric and wishes is too, though nowhere near the level of Happily Ever After. Finally it's someone has pointed out they've done this for several years now. But I do believe it's for crowd control. This way the crowd isn't so enticed all try to go to converge in the hub.

To bad it couldn't be wishes

Why fantasy in the sky twice in one night on New Year's Eve and no happily ever after?

Here's from yesterday. Not very Christmassy but it's the only picture I took. Edit: I take that back there are three pointsettas up above Edit: wait are those pointsettas? They're red and green!

I like the new bows and candles on the tree.

We went during Thanksgiving week last year, and it was possibly our best Disney trip ever. It was so fun seeing all the decorations and MVMCP, the resorts all decorated. I would highly recommend for anyone who hasn't been during the Christmas season.

Actually the last few years MK decor has been up through the Marathon which is January 7th this year. The other parks vary. Sometimes through the marathon sometimes not. The resorts usually take their stuff down right after New Years.

Usually by January 6th.
