Registration for the 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will not open this week. runDisney confirmed the news in an evening update, adding that a new registration date and time will be communicated at least 24 hours before it opens.

Latest Update From runDisney

In a statement posted this evening, runDisney said:

"We are still working to finalize a new registration date and time for the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. You may notice some changes on the website this evening, but registration has not started. We want to reassure everyone that we will communicate the new date and time at least 24 hours before registration opens. We don't have those details to share just yet, and registration won't take place this week. We'll share another update by 8:00 PM ET tomorrow evening on runDisney social accounts."

No reason for the delay has been given.

How Today Unfolded

runDisney posted three updates throughout the day before the evening statement. The first confirmed a delay with a 10:30am update promised. The second pushed that to 11am. The third — posted mid-morning — confirmed registration would not open at all today and promised news by 8pm ET.

The evening update has now pushed that timeline further, with registration ruled out for the rest of the week.

run Disney is not interested in making registration for race events convenient for the people that want to participate.

These aren't park CMs. These are office jobs. They aren't working on the weekend and Disney isn't paying them overtime to do so. Many people work on weekends too. There will always be an inopportune time for someone.

And? CMs work on the weekend. Why not think of those who register for the races...many of whom work during the week?

Rteetz9 days ago

That would require them to work on the weekend then.

LAKid539 days ago

Why not on the weekend?

I remember that now.

There was the debacle in April 2022 trying to register for Marathon weekend 2023. Multiple pauses and delays, with uncertain timeframes. Ultimately registration went forward but it was a cluster and most things sold out very quickly. The other thing I remember a big issue with was Oogie Boogie Bash registration a few years ago where the queue ended up paused for hours.

Same here, well I didn't renew this year. But I vaguely remember a weekend where signups for the public didn't happen when they were suppose to and rD did the same thing. The verbiage they've put out was too familiar to me.

LAKid5311 days ago

Did it? I'm Platinum Club rD, so I get to register early.

Didn't this happen recently for another weekend?

You'd think by now they'd get their IT fixed.... It's been like this ever since runDisney decided to no longer use Active as their registration portal and develop one of their own.
