Starting April 23, 2026, Wailulu Bar & Grill at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will have limited daytime service while exterior roof work takes place through late June.

The restaurant stays open throughout the project, but there are some service adjustments to plan around:

Open until 5pm: Walk-up service only. No seating available.
5pm to close: Full seating resumes as normal.

Construction activity will be visible during daytime hours. Disney says it will work to keep disruptions to a minimum.

If you're hoping to grab a seat at Wailulu Bar & Grill, aim for an evening visit. The location returns to full service at 5pm each day, so that's your best window for a normal experience during the refurbishment period.

The work is expected to wrap up in late June 2026.

Has anyone eaten lunch at Wailulu since the refurbishment started? Are you able to order off the full menu and if so, where do you sit? I still have my reservations for next week and I'm wondering if I should cancel or just show up and hope for the best.

My 4:00 dinner reservations are still showing up and I have not heard anything from Disney?? I also checked and you can still make lunch reservations for the time slot during the supposed dining room closure?? I think Disney may have dropped the ball on this one. There's going to be a lot of unhappy diners who show up for their lunch reservations only to find they have to sit outside on some plastic chairs. ;)

It's being reported that they are extending the roof because when it really pours, the bar area can get flooded so they are trying to prevent that with this work.

Why haven’t my 12:15 reservations in May been canceled? Do they expect my party to show up and think I’ll be okay with getting our lunch to go?

The Polynesian is about to have the Tiki Terrace, boat dock, and Wailulu mostly or completely closed. They're also working on the exterior of the big building and the parking lot. They couldn't have spaced these out a bit?

I have reservations at 12:15 in May. If I didn’t read this website, I wouldn’t know. Will I get a cancellation email from Disney? Is this an official announcement? Lunch reservations are still being shown on the app.

Seems soon to be needing roof work. I was hoping to stop in for lunch and try the burger I've heard so much about but guess I'll have to do dinner instead.
