The Writer's Stop to remain open for a limited time with new menu and merchandise

Fans of The Writers Stop at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be pleased to know that the coffee shop will remain open beyond the April 2 shutdown of much of the Streets of America.

For a limited time starting April 3 2016, Writer's Stop will open at 11:30am through to 1 hour before the close of the adjacent Sci-Fi Dine-In restaurant. Along with coffee and pastries, pretzels, charcuterie and a cheese plate will be on offer, along with alcoholic beverages.

On the merchandise side, a new range of home and kitchen goods will be on sale.

Yep so they aren't going anywhere even once Writers stop is closed for good. I knew they would just relocate them being they are so popular. :)

Does this possibly mean we'll see significant demo of SOA soon? Seeing how close The Writers Stop is to the SoA, I always assumed that's why it had to close.

Upon my most recent this past week to WDW I heard from two different cast members that The Writer's Stop was closing in September. Two cast members in the store last week offered the information. One cast member at the neighboring Sci-Fi Restaurant confirmed. She said, "You can use The Writer's Stop as our lounge" I said, "Until it closes in September." She replied, "Wow, news travels fast." So get your AWESOME carrot cake cookies while they last. If this topic exists already I have no clue. I did a search and didn't see it, so do whatever you want with this post.

When I was at it a few days ago it was dead. Apparently guests already think it's closed.

The little nooks and places like this are the things I love most about the Studios. I wonder what will ultimately become of that specific space.

I'll bet someone suddenly realized that many people waiting for tables at Sci-Fi typically do so in the Writer's Stop, and that closing it would mean limited indoor waiting areas for those Guests. I presume once they figure that issue out, Writer's Stop will close. (My bets are on them taking over the corner of ABC Commissary closest to Sci-Fi, removing some of the tables and putting in benches) -Rob
