Terra Treats at Disney's Animal Kingdom Drops Hot Dogs for Hand-Scooped Ice Cream

Disney's Animal Kingdom has replaced the hot dog offerings at Terra Treats with a new dessert-focused menu featuring hand-scooped ice cream.

The Discovery Island kiosk previously served Colombian-style hot dogs and specialty beverages. You can now find ice cream cups, waffle cones, and dessert sundaes at the location.

Carrot Cake Sundae - Vanilla Ice Cream, Caramel Sauce, Roasted Pecans, and Carrot Cake Crumbs in a Waffle Bowl topped with a Birthday Cake-flavored Shell and Chocolate Carrot Top ($8.99)
Float - Served with your choice of Coca-Cola Fountain Beverage ($6.99)

Beverages remain available, including Assorted Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages ($4.79) and DASANI Bottled Water ($4.25).

Previous Menu

The January 2026 menu featured Colombian-style hot dogs priced at $12.99. Both traditional and plant-based versions came topped with Salsa Verde, Mayonnaise-Ketchup, Pineapple Sauce, and Crushed Chips served with Kettle Chips.

The location also offered a Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Juice Limeade with Chili-Lime Seasoning ($6.29), available with or without tequila.

Terra Treats operates as a walk-up snack location in Discovery Island near the Tree of Life. Hours vary by park schedule.

I still say WDW should offer quality fruit popsicles and real kettle corn. For anyone who hasn't tried them, the ones at Universal Minions popsicles are really good! The character themed ones are not as flavorful as the non-themed pops. Top flavors include the lemon/mint, strawberry and the mango.

It didn't even occur to me with all this that Disney World lost the only ice cream place in the parks where there was readily available indoor seating to use after getting your ice cream. For those rare days where it's hot in Florida, ya know.
