Satu'li Canteen, the main restaurant in Pandora - The World of Avatar, will be the first restaurant to feature the new My Disney Experience Mobile Order service.

Mobile Order allows you to pay for meals on-the-go within the My Disney Experience app, bypassing the queue to order at the restaurant. Using the app, you can select menu items, customize an order and pre-pay for a meal.

Arriving at the restaurant, you'll tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, you'll be alerted through the app to pick up the meal at a designated window. Only credit card payments will be accepted via Mobile Order, Disney Dining Plan guests will have to use the regular line.

Disney has been experimenting with this type of service at various restaurants over the past few years, and it now appears the technology is ready for prime-time. Expect to see Mobile Order expand to other restaurants throughout the year.

Satu'li Canteen Design

Formerly the main mess hall of the Resources Development Administration (RDA) base located in the Valley of Mo’ara, Satu'li Canteen is now owned and operated by Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) tour company and has been redesigned into a museum-like dining room.

Colorful Na’vi items fill the walls and ceilings, including hand-woven tapestries, natural Pandoran elements and cooking tools.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, with fast casual service. The Disney Dining Plan will be accepted.

Satu’li Canteen Food

Healthy food features prominently on the menu at Satu'li Canteen, with whole grains, vegetables and proteins, along with a hint of Chipotle style bowls thrown in.

Diners start with a base of quinoa and vegetable salad; red and sweet potato hash; mixed whole-grain and rice or romaine and kale salad. Next is either wood-grilled chicken, slow-roasted beef, sustainable fish or chili-spiced fried tofu. And the bowl is finished with charred onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette or creamy herb dressing.

The menu also offers steamed “pods” – bao buns with either cheeseburger or vegetable curry and served with root vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw.

Kid's offerings will include grilled chicken or beef, fish or tofu with greens or rice; a hot dog wrapped in Parker House dough; cheese quesadilla, or a steamed “pod” (cheeseburger bao bun).

Satu'li Canteen will open alongside Pandora - The World of Avatar, May 27 2017 in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Solid portion size, I should mix and match more the next time. I got chicken and beef, both with the chimichurri and hash and enjoyed them both.

The portion size surprised me. Great value IMHO

Figment2005Jun 13, 2017

I completely agree. The portions are nice too as you don't feel you were short changed with the food.

The QS was a pleasant surprise. The bowl I ordered was really good. I would say that it is probably my favorite QS also.

just want to say i love this place the best CS on property on my opinion

Yes. Here are the customization screens.

Kman101Jun 08, 2017

I believe you have the option to remove the slaw and boba balls, for example.

peter11435Jun 08, 2017

Some things can be customized.

Cosmic CommandoJun 08, 2017

Is there any room for customization in the app? Sauce on the side? Hold the slaw?

HakunamatataJun 07, 2017

Thats a good idea. Will keep that in mind for the next trip.

CaptainAmericaJun 07, 2017

Yeah I always carry a gift card whenever I'm on the dining plan (rarely) specifically for that purpose.

HakunamatataJun 07, 2017

And on the flip side cast members are pre programmed to automatically assume guests want to use their dining plan for every meal purchase. I cant count the number of times ive specifically asked that they not charge a snack credit or counter service credit and when I get my receipt they tell me "you have x number snacks remaining" and I tell them I specifically asked you to charge to my room and not burn an entitlement. Blank stare. Besides the 7D system issues and weather, that has been the most frustrating thing.

CaptainAmericaJun 07, 2017

Agreed. Most (i.e. not the message board crowd) guests can make it to their check-out day and they still don't understand how their dining plan works. They need a cast member in front of their faces to walk them through the process.

Sorry, but I hope it never does. That'll keep the pickup lines a lot shorter.
