Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit that should move the Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios much closer to its opening.

The permit, assigned to Brilliant Creative Fabrication in Orlando, calls for the installation of "themed facades." The company carrying out the work has partnered with Disney numerous times, including many of the original Toy Story Land sets. (Thanks to @danlb_2000 on the WDWMAGIC Forums for identifying the permit.)

Originally planned to open in 2020 and delayed by the pandemic, the Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be located near the entrance of Toy Story Land and will be a table service offering. Disney said earlier this year that Roundup Rodeo BBQ will open in 2022.

Stepping into the lobby and waiting area, guests experience first-hand what it feels like to be one of Andy’s honorary toys, before progressing into two larger dining room spaces where Andy’s rodeo takes place. Here, the rodeo will be in full swing, with western town and train station playsets mixing with surprising, playful details, like some fan-favorite Pixar characters as they’ve never been seen before!

Whenever food is mentioned on these here discussion boards, the dining commandos come out to speculate about the dollar-to-calorie ratio of every dish on the menu. I'm glad someone's keeping the parks honest about their food offerings!

Yeah, have never seen actual food and portion pictures match up with real food, either in fast-food or sit down

The portions look nice for the promotional content but I will be curious to see if they have the same portion sizes a few weeks later.

any ideas on seating capacity? think it will be a hard or easy reservation to get after the initial weeks?hope they allow for some walk up, spur of the moment dinning.

Cannot imagine prices that high, especially if it is not a character dinning which I have heard nothing about it being one

I guess that depends a little on your definition of "Live Pig":

Price is going to be similar to Boma and Ohana. Expect about 55 per Adult and 35 per Child. Protein is not cheap and it is family style. I have heard as high as 65.

Unexpectedly the guests and food are both toy sized. You win this round Disney. Touche. Looks like a great way to gain weight.

not to argue about polite pig, but their butcher board costs 42.00 and only has 2 sides. this one gets you 4 sides, and we do not know the cost, if it is true family style it should be all you can eat, cannot imagine a family of 4 only getting a shared platter, especially if you have teen age boys, just my opinion.

False comparison. Homecoming isn't in a theme park, for one, so I'm not looking for theme. Plus, the food there is good. There's like a 99% chance that the BBQ will be worse at Roundup Rodeo than Polite Pig despite costing more. If Roundup Rodeo had great theming that can function as a draw to help make up for the cost/quality difference, but if it doesn't, why would I want to pay more for worse food?

That would be awesome imo.

So if homecoming in DS had 3rd grade drawings you would not eat there,?
