Seems that you need to call to book. Several have called and booked dates out through September. Seems that the CMs are having to look for it as they were unaware.
Sounds fun to me. I may have to pick between this and MVMCP for our November trip but I'll see if I can just save between now and then.
It's different than the one for Wishes which I think is a nice addition and give people options.

Howdy folks! Join in the fun and bring out those wallets! We call them "Limited-Time Hand-in-your-Pocket-Events" down around these parts. Join Minnie, Mickey, and all of the gang, taking your hard earn dollars for all sorts of rollicking-fun things that used to be free.

HOW MUCH??!!!
Maybe if they fixed the show first....

I think it's also because Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party might affected by the construction.

↩ replying to WDW1974So...are you complaining that they are offering something new or that it is not free. I am not sure what you are complaining about this time.

↩ replying to steamboatjoshYou should have the very BEST first night of your honeymoon, but you SHOULDN'T have to pay an extra 49 bucks for some dessert and a drink!

↩ replying to wendysueThis is the problem. Disney is charging $50 for a drink, dessert and a view of the fireworks that used to be included in the price of admission and people are foaming at the mouth to fork over the dough.
We get what we deserve I guess.

↩ replying to ISTCNavigator57We had the opportunity to participate in a private dessert party during Illuminations a few years ago and it was a great experience. Can't wait to see how this compares.

I'm not terribly disappointed by this, sure, 50 bucks it a lot to charge for desert and drinks, but not in the scheme of typically overpriced stuff at a theme park, any theme park for that matter. You're not being charged to see the fireworks, but are being charged to see them from hopefully a place you don't have to camp at for an hour to get an unobstructed view, unless they oversell the event. Frankly, for 40 bucks, I'd jump all over this...50 is a little steep, but who knows. Only thing that would suck is to reserve it and not have it rain or the wind blow right at you.

↩ replying to lebeauYou left out the number 1 reason many people including myself will line up for this.
Not having to deal with other people.
The single worst thing about parade or fireworks viewing at WDW is having to defend your territory against people who see no problem with squeezing into the 6" of air you left between you and railing in front of you 5 minutes before the fireworks start. I gladly drop a little coin to not have to deal with that.

I'm surprised it took this long.... Ive been expecting Disney to do it ever since the Wishes dessert parties started.

It does seem overpriced compared to the Wishes party (especially with the kids, wasn't the kids' price for that like $13?). I've enjoyed multiple visits to the Wishes one, a large part because of what @Master Yoda said, getting to enjoy the show without fighting the crowds.
I don't tend to see anything wrong with this at all, seems like it's adding an offering that folks can decide if it's financially worth it to them or not. Times in my life, I could happily have seen it as a positive to have a $50 all-you-can-eat-and-drink kind of offering while watching that show not standing packed like sardines.
M
↩ replying to sshindelIt does seem over priced and they have added some $5 a bottle sparkling wine to cover it. That being said, they could charge $50 for this as well as the Wishes! dessert party, have no alcohol, and still sell this sucker out by 9:00 AM 180 days out. Simple supply and demand.
