May have to try that out when I'm at Disney next. But, it's often hard to resist having a hot fudge sundae by the pool from Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.

People wander around in shirts proclaiming their great love for such unique Disney snacks as... cotton candy and popcorn. People just like hyping up literally everything on Disney property. This gets a boost for at least being shaped different, but for the most part, no, nothing is special about it.

Ah, yes. The "Luxury Ice Cream Bar" makes it's debut.

In liquid nitrogen? The picture makes it look like some sort of "chocolatey" coating. That is hand dipped, they took it in their hand, and dipped it into something. Makes it worth that extra $1.30 Ranks right up there with Tito's "Handmade" vodka.

It is decent ice cream - as in higher butterfat (or some fat, could be lard for all I know). It's not bargain basement, back of the freezer, store brand ice cream made with no dairy, lots of vegetable oil, and ice crystals. But is not really anything so all fired special either. As others have said, it is comparable to a Dove bar.

I'm working really hard to get some lbs off now. ;)

Nostalgia factor.

IMO it is just a standard icecream bar. Comparable is Dove ice cream bar $5.39/3 bars

Ok help me out here - what's so special about a premium bar? I've never had one, as the idea of a lump of basic ice cream covered in chocolate didn't really scream unique theme park food offering to me. Am i actually missing anything? Is there something 'special' about them? Or is it just a fairly standard ice cream bar?

We had one yesterday. Watched the cast member unwrap a frozen Mickey Bar, dip it in liquid nitrogen and roll it in salted caramel pearls. She left the wrapper on the wooden stick handle. A $1.30 upcharge for a little candy on Mickey’s ears. Not exactly the “hand dipped” we were expecting.

Right. Those are better too.

But, but, but, "hand dipped" Ranks right up there with hand spun, and artisanal.

They may not be quit the same but does that justify the ridiculous price

That doesn't mean that they are the same.
