Harambe Market at Disney's Animal Kingdom is now closed as scheduled for its temporary refurbishment. The closure is part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion, which is prompting adjustments to several dining locations throughout the park.
Although the food counters are no longer operating, the outdoor seating area at Harambe Market remains open for guest use - for now. Signage posted at the entrance directs guests to alternative nearby dining options, including Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari, and Restaurantosaurus.
Disney has previously announced that Harambe Market will reopen in early 2026 with a refreshed menu focused on quick-service staples like burgers and chicken strips. The change comes ahead of the permanent closure of Restaurantosaurus, scheduled for February 2, 2026, which will shift more of the park's fast-casual dining demand to Harambe Market.
In the meantime, Kusafiri Coffee & Bakery - located nearby in Africa - will expand operations to offer lunch options. Menu items will include:
- Harambe Chicken Rice Bowl
- Plant-based Picadillo Rice Bowl
- Harissa Chicken Wrap
