Dining Shake-Up at Disney's Animal Kingdom as Tropical Americas Work Ramps Up

Preparations for the Tropical Americas expansion at Disney's Animal Kingdom are leading to more closures and adjustments across the park, including several dining changes beginning in October.

Harambe Market to Temporarily Close October 20

Harambe Market in the Africa section of the park will temporarily close starting October 20, 2025, as the location undergoes changes to support the eventual closure of Restaurantosaurus next year. When it reopens in early 2026, Harambe Market will feature a refreshed menu with burgers, chicken strips, and other quick-service staples previously found at Restaurantosaurus.

While Harambe Market is closed, Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery will expand its hours and offerings. The location will serve lunch and feature select menu items from Harambe Market, including:

  • Harambe Chicken Rice Bowl
  • Plant-Based Picadillo Rice Bowl
  • Harissa Chicken Wrap

Snack Kiosk Closures in DinoLand U.S.A.

Two additional closures will take place on the DinoLand U.S.A. side of the park:

  • Trilo-Bites (near the main entrance to DinoLand)
  • Dino-Bite Snacks (adjacent to Restaurantosaurus)

Both kiosks will have their final day of operation on October 19, 2025, and will close permanently beginning October 20.

Despite the closures, select menu items from these kiosks will live on at new locations:

  • Buffalo Chicken Chips will move to Eight Spoons Café on Discovery Island
  • Dole Whip Floats will be available at Warung Outpost in the Asia section of the park
  • Hand-scooped ice cream will return to the park in February 2026, with its new location to be announced

These closures are part of the gradual removal of DinoLand U.S.A. as construction ramps up for the Tropical Americas land, set to debut in 2027 with new attractions based on Encanto and Indiana Jones.

The pizza at connections is made in the kitchen - not the frozen kind. I don’t think I’ve tried it though. I’d also like to note the on-theme update on the menu board - it’s those little details that make all the difference. A Helvetica on white sign that says “temporarily closed” would have ruined the atmosphere.

Pizza Ponte is in Disney Springs and is fabulous. And I live in rich pizza country in Connecticut - birthplace of coal-fired pizza.

"Is it delivery? No, it's Disney."

If you don’t know, then you don’t know. Having lived in California and New York and now in Central Florida believe me, you would know what is meant by Florida pizza if you lived here. Think, floppy and tasteless. Put it this way, the 711 pizza in Florida is some of the better pizza in Florida. Chuck E. Cheese is probably in the top five. I assume it’s probably the humidity and the overall bland pallet of most Floridians, but Florida pizza is the worst. The best pizza in Florida is the Wolfgang Puck woodfired pizzas. I have literally eaten at dozens if not a 100 pizza places in Florida and have not found one that I would call good.

(and I don't think its really a full kitchen... just a place to keep tator tots and breakfast sandwiches hot?)... I don't really see any of them being able to mass produce Rice Bowls or Pitas... Having 0 restaurant experience outside of eating at one... Seems about right...

It probably won't be like the full two menus combined but also probably won't be only just exactly what Restaurantasaurus had ... My guess is a combination of the menus with some more unique options combined with some "regular" the burgers and fries, etc

Ah, yes I forgot about that I'm a Chicagoland native that's why...Who knows now if you'll be snarfing on a Digiorno brand one now😆.. I haven't been there at the resort in over 5 years..

Not really a local company as Nestlé bought them from Kraft in 2010 along with DiGiorno, Tombstone, Jack's and the California Pizza Kitchen trademark.

If you ever get ANY of these puffy looking pieces of blah at the park they are nothing but frozen pizzas from a distributor company that works with Disney called Nation Pizza... Pizzafari, Former Pizzarizzos, anyplace your resort that sells it. Will probably be that brand...I saw this while I was waiting in line at Pop Century and while waiting in line of the CM's unwrapped one to get heated and I saw the logo on top of the garbage and found out the company is a local Chicago company out in Schaumburg...

I hate their style of reporting info. It comes across as rage bait content to just get people up in my arms.

Having 0 restaurant experience outside of eating at one... I would assume complexity of a menu would need increased fridge, cooking, prepping space, and dishwashing space potentially. Not to mention more logistics and potentially cooks.
