same scenario here for us, I dont know what they changed there because it never use to operate that way or have those problems.

Certainly. It was not my intention to invalidate Chip's position, merely to observe that lots can change in a year. Also, we are a party of two, so while it may be harder to find a reservation, two-tops usually clear faster. Larger parties would take longer to clean up after and make the table available.

And I don't dispute that you had a bad experience. I just thought it was a bit of a stretch to compare a year ago visit to a much more recent one. 😊 One would hope that the food situation would improve in that amount of time! I'm sure there were people this week who had long waits at many WDW restaurants, especially depending on party size! Larger parties can take longer to clear. I do hope though, that no one had to suffer bad food. Which, of course, as you've said, is subjective. My duck entree at Flying Fish wasn't bad, but it was definitely underwhelming. I hope you have only good dining experiences whenever you return to WDW.

I don't dispute that you had a good experience. I had multiple bad experiences there (long waits, slow service, food that was just okay or just plain bad), so please forgive me if I wait and see if they can consistently deliver quality food and service before i go back. There are plenty of better options at WDW, in my opinion. It's subjective.

Both could have happened, maybe that night they were having kitchen issues or staffing issues. What Disney could get better at is communication. An hour past reservation time without some sort of recovery is not acceptable. This happened to us at Sebastian’s a few months ago and no one followed up with us. There was a leader walking around but did nothing to communicate they were running behind or even come table touch after parties were finally seated. It’s still one of our favorites, but if that was our first time there it might have been a very bad impression, just like what happened to the other poster.

We were seated within 20 minutes of our arrival time, and we arrived almost exactly at the time of our reservation. My miso-glazed salmon arrived hot and tasty. But whatever. I'm sure your year-old experience is more valid.

I hope so because the food was definitely not worth that wait.

TiggerishMar 21, 2026

If I'm reading that correctly, you ate there a year ago and had a bad experience. I ate there two nights ago and had a different one. Clearly, they took your criticism onboard and straightened themselves up.

I found the food and service there to be embarrassing for a Disney resort, let alone the flagship resort at WDW. Our last time eating there (a liter over a year ago, I think) may very well end up being our last time eating there. We waited an hour past our reservation time just to be seated, service was slow, and the food was mediocre at best. We knew that they tend to be a little slow and the food was just okay, but that visit showed us that the trend was moving in the wrong direction. Our servers have always been friendly, just painfully slow.

Having eaten dinner there the night before last, that's welcome news. The food and service are.top-notch but the decor is looking a bit too "shabby chic".
