Gideon's-Themed Window Graphics Hint at Next Disney Springs Project

New Gideon's Concept at Disney Springs

It now appears that the mystery project tied to Gideon's at Disney Springs is moving closer to reality. New window graphics have been installed at the former Art of Shaving storefront, strongly suggesting that a Gideon's-related concept is indeed on the way.

The windows now feature bold red artwork with raven imagery and Gideon's-style design elements. On the front doors, text reads: "Pardon Our Appearance. Something New Is Coming Soon." The visual style closely matches the branding associated with Gideon's Bakehouse, reinforcing the connection hinted at earlier through permitting.

This location sits just a few doors down from the existing Gideon's Bakehouse, one of the most visited and heavily queued food locations at Disney Springs. The space has been vacant for several months following the closure of Art of Shaving.

Last month, a Notice of Commencement was filed for a "New Tenant Build-Out of Lease Space in Disney Springs," listing The First Raven LLC as the client. Public records show the company is led by Steve Lewis, the founder of Gideon's Bakehouse. While neither Disney nor Gideon's has made an announcement, the newly installed window graphics provide the strongest indication yet that the project is moving forward.

What remains unclear is how this new space will be branded. It has not been confirmed whether this will operate as an extension of the Gideon's Bakehouse location or as an entirely new concept from the same creative team. The messaging and artwork suggest a close connection, but Disney has not released any details on offerings, timeline, or opening plans.

Gideon's began in late 2016 at Orlando's East End Market with one employee and an $800 budget. Its nearly half-pound, small-batch cookies quickly gained international attention, with lines often stretching past an hour as guests waited for limited flavors before sellouts. The Disney Springs location opened in December 2020 and has remained consistently popular ever since.

Feeling ravenous already.

Six ravens?!!?? That's a profligate murder of ravens. Any right-minded person would agree that three is sufficient.

Hands off my chicken! That place is not going anywhere, it's still very popular (and if you believe rumours I've heard, one of the only locations that is consistently profitable). It's also very good chicken. I may be slightly biased... But I do wish they let you get a crazy number of sauces like they used to. I don't like to choose!

Would love to see a Greggs Bakery pop-up at Disney selling savoury slices (Fajita Chicken Bake or Steak Bake currently on sale in UK High Streets for £2.60/$3.50; Vegan Bakes 25 cents cheaper and Vegan Sausage Rolls at £1.40/ $1.88). Maybe as a PR stunt Greggs could bid for a food stand in the UK Pavilion at EPCOT during one of the festivals.

Depends. Is there a pic of Betty Childs at the bottom?

Completely OT, but since my daughter worked at a Crumbl last summer, I asked her about this. She personally made the cookie doughs from flour, sugar, eggs, butter, baking soda, etc. She did say they use “special flavors” from time to time for particular cookies (like Biscoff flavored power) to match a specific flavor. Could it be possible that something labeled Duncan Hines was used in a Crumbl store? Sure. But Crumbl does not use boxed cake mix as the basis to “make their cookies.” But, needless to say, after one summer of her bringing home extras, I hope I never see another Crumbl cookie.

They should have the Gideon’s line snake through here.

Cool, I place to get some food while you are waiting in the cookie line!

I like the idea of something savory instead of sweet... Looks like it will be great....wonder if it will be open by June... At this point, shouldn't they just open a full restaurtant themed like the bakehouse in the Tim Burton-esque style? If there was one, I am sure we would eat there... Would be way more interesting than Chicken Guy or Blaze Pizza...

Well it certainly is no $28 slice of cake.
