PHOTOS - A quick look at the new breakfast offering at Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom began its new breakfast offering today and we've got a first look at what you can expect.

The arrival process is very similar to the lunch offering, with guests directed to kiosks inside the castle to begin the self-service ordering process. Breakfast is a prix fixe offering, priced at $19.99 per adult, and $11.99 ages 3-9. For each guest, this includes an entree selection, a pastry basket that is shared for the entire table, and a beverage.

Just like lunch, seating is self service, and the food is brought out to the table very quickly - we waited less than 5 minutes. All three dining rooms are open for seating, and surprisingly they were not packed to the rafters. Seating was available in all three rooms during our reservation at 9:15am.

Most beverages are self service, including soft drinks, water and coffee. If you order orange juice or milk, it is bottled and brought to the table with the food.

So the burning question is how was the food? We are very pleased to say it did not disappoint, and is easily the best quick service breakfast in a park or Walt Disney World Resort hotel. It was fresh, hot, very well presented, and showed a real attention to detail that is normally only found in table service restaurants. An example was the poached egg on the Bacon  and Egg Sandwich, it was perfectly cooked, and broke open to reveal a beautiful runny yolk to cover the sandwich.

The pastry basket for sharing consisted of around 8 pieces, including a couple of muffins, bran and blueberry, a croissant, cinnamon roll, danish and chocolate pastry twist. There is definitely scope for fighting over the selections here - it might be nice if there was one of each for every guest at the table.

We sampled the Eggs Florentine, the Egg and Bacon Sandwich, the Meat and Cheese selection and for the kids menu, the Crepes. All were excellent, and we would have no hesitation in recommending any of them. Choosing a favorite would be difficult, but perhaps the Egg and Bacon Sandwich has a slight edge.

To sum up, Breakfast at Be Our Guest Restaurant continues to push forward the quality of food at the Magic Kingdom, and the concept of quick service dining at Walt Disney World. It is without question the best quick service breakfast you are going to find at a theme park, and gives a lot of the resort table service restaurants a run for their money. $19.99 might seem high for quick service, but the food and experience is closer to that of a table service restaurant with extraordinary theming thrown in.

Breakfast is served from 8am to 10m, and is currently part of a test period through to June 18 2015.  Reservations are highly recommended. Click the gallery for photos, and click here for the menu.
