Now you guys know Disney doesn’t like missing out on money. If they see someone taking advantage of something they are quick to act. 😂

The problem is, the add-on enhancement is why we went. I have no interest in making the journey all the way to yacht club for a Denny’s breakfast. Also, Ale and Compass used to be the least busy breakfast restaurant at Disney World and now it is (was) routinely booked out. I think this is (was) mainly because the influencers have been pushing the variety that is available with their breakfasts. Now that it is basically a Denny’s again, I would expect it to drop back down to being hardly busy at all again. Penny wise and pound foolish, as usual.

It's only been a continental buffet add-on in recent years (sides - like parfaits, pastries, bagels, cheese and charcuterie, fruit etc.). And it's gone. They haven't had a full buffet in years.

So is the buffet option completely gone? Or just the buffet “add on”?

christine725718 days ago

My guess is that one person at the table was paying for the buffet add-on (it was a buffet of sides) and then bringing enough fruit, bread, pastries, parfaits etc. back to the table for the whole party. It's why we can't have nice things. Sigh. And Disney doesn't like guest confrontation so instead everyone gets punished.

That’s an issue at buffets. In my town, if someone tried to get two buffets for the price of one the manager would address the issue or they would just be charged for two. At Disney they don’t like to make an issue of it so this is the fix.

Glad we found a way to blame the guest! I was worried for a minute.

I'm curious about not paying, are people walking out and leaving their unpaid check? Are some getting freebies? Do you mean the dining plan? Sometimes sharing is necessary when I have no good way to deal with leftovers.

Not coming back, too many people plate sharing and not paying

Hopefully clearer heads will prevail and they will bring it back soon. They just spent two years getting the influencers to come to ale and Compass. Now it’s just a Denny’s.

Uh oh. My DH is going to be upset. He loved the cheese danishes that were on that buffet.

That is still not a proper crab cake. There is not nearly enough crab in it and wayyyy too much filling. It should be 80-90% crab and just enough filler to hold it together. And because it's got sooo much filler, then with the English muffin, that's a whole lotta bread. A lot of restaurants here don't even do crab cake benedict. They do crab benedict. Just got the crab meat in there with the egg and muffin. No need to make it into a crab cake.

Apparently, the chefs have no idea what a Maryland-style crab cake is either. But they may be experts on salad making...word salad, that is. You can join me in being offended by the entire thing if you'd like...I'll save you a spot. :hilarious:
