Epcot opened the 'Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience' earlier this morning - officially marking the beginning of Epcot's transformation.

Located in the Odyssey between World Showcase and Future World, the exhibit features a 360 degree movie and projection mapping onto a model of the park to tell the story of Epcot's future.

The 12 minute show includes concept art, and guides guests through each of the new additions coming to Epcot over the next few years.

For those that follow developments closely, there isn't anything new. But the show is beautifully produced and is sure to build anticipation for what is to come.

Here is a look at the entire presentation.

Outside of the theater room, there are posters of past, present and future attractions.

A model of the new Festival center that will be part of the new Epcot central core is also on display.

Wrapping up the experience are several photo booths, complete with PhotoPass photographers.

Would be nice if they could resurrect other portions of the maquette and move forward with much-needed updates to Mexico and Imagination, but I suppose that dream is deadish for a while, at least.

A functioning restaurant would be better considering how low Disney is on dining capacity. But yes, that's why I said it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Well…it was an empty restaurant for about 20 years before it became festivalapalooza… define “better”

They should really shut the whole thing down. Guardians and Moana are basically the only things left in there that are still coming and haven't already opened. Turn that space into something better (not that they're going to do that anytime soon).

Apologies for bumping such a long dead thread, but this seems the most appropriate place to ask this. Do we have any idea when/if the Ratatouille and Harmonious segments will be removed from the show? They’ve both been open for nearly a month now and their segments are still there. I can see Harm remaining since it uses more time neutral language and loops back to the intro, but keeping Rat confuses me since it’s presented as “coming soon”. Is it more of a case of just keeping the show long since it’s already been trimmed since opening?

Yeah, I agree. Despite me being an Epcot Center fan/purist, the future looked bright. Not for everyone, but it seemed exciting. Hopefully things will continue to truck along. (Although within a year or so an entire new neighborhood will be totally complete: World Discovery. So a large chunk of the planned work will be online. Silver linings!)

I'm not gonna lie - I was pretty jazzed after visiting the preview center. Except for the whole raccoon/gotg thing. But everything else was cool.

Ah. Being discussed here:

Hadn't seen their statement

MisterPenguinJul 24, 2020

...which is exactly what Disney said regarding revising the festival center. One doesn't have to have inside information to predict Disney will do what they publicly said they'll do. ;)

FigmentFan82Jul 24, 2020

Grains and grains of salt and all, but Mr. Hill alluded to the new festival center being very much needed as Disney had already begun to sell the space for corporate events. The implication seemed to be that although there may not be a festival center that looks like the concept art we've seen, there will in fact be some new festival center built.
