Massive New Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro announced during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, that a major new Magic Kingdom land will be home to the Disney Villains we know and loathe from our favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios classic films.

The land will be home to two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an "incredibly twisted grand scale." "Since the beginning, our Disney Villains have given us endless possibilities to tell new stories," D'Amaro said. "In this new land, you’ll see storytelling on a grand scale that only Disney can deliver."

While we don't yet have an opening timeframe, Disney says that preparation is already underway at Magic Kingdom for this new land.

The single piece of concept art shows what looks very much like a rollercoaster track, themed to Maleficent Dragon.

"Be prepared, you poor unfortunate souls," Josh teased. "It's going to be a fearless new vision for what a Disney experience can be."

Apart from walkaround characters, seems like a no brainer for the land to also have a highly themed indoor M&G where they can easily rotate different villains The Disney Destiny has a couple experiences that feel like a testing ground for the land

Agreed that goes for captain hook Jafar especially given the way we’ve seen Hades at special events. I have a feeling he will really be a face character.

If they do, I hope they are 100% face characters (I know Hook and Frolo have frequently been performed by masked characters in the parks) and I hope we see some new faces (face character Kronk and Yzma could be an AMAZING meet and greet). Would also be nice to see some of the face character villians that they have tried at DCA used here.

It feels likely they have a theme, inspired by a previous work that will give the name of the land is what I’m going with. I can’t seem them getting as dark as the Fantasia Chermobog for the whole land, but having a Bald Mountain as the weeny with Chermabog animatronic on top would definitely make a flaming windmill seem 2nd fiddle.

Liberty Square doesn’t have land in the name. Maybe it’ll be Villains Square?

Villains kingdom or villains land or even the long rumored that was going to be the potential villains theme park name tragic kingdom but with every magic kingdom, land having the name land in them, villains land is the best in my opinion.
