A fun fact. A pool lifeguard told me Disney guards can only wear traditional bathing suits (shorts/shirtless for guys and one piece for girls) when the water they guard is over 5ft deep. Which means the only pools with deep spots is now the TL Surf Pool and the lazy river portion of Stormalong Bay. All quiet pools used to have deep ends, but they disappeared in the early to mid 00s. Growing up in the 90s, Disney guards and slide attendants were in traditional bathing suits regularly.

I just noticed something bizarre. I don’t think Disney ever shows people wearing swimsuits that show skin for their water park, cruise line, or resort ads in contrast to their competition. It seems deliberate. Wonder why.

Nothing gets cold in the summer. The water is perpetually about 85 degrees.

Elijah AbramsFeb 21, 2023

I wonder how people are able to enjoy the water parks in the dark hours, since the water usually gets cold at that point?

BriscoFeb 21, 2023

I'm missing that too. Have a trip planned for 1st week of May would hope it's open by then.

When will TL reopen daily? Did I miss the date??

If it cant operate you get a refund. But they will operate in the rain.

Club CooloholicMar 29, 2022

Any idea if you get a refund if it can't operate due to weather?

I wonder if they will throw in any of the free Passholder nights that they had in summer of 2019.

During GayDays Orlando in the first week of June 2022, Typhoon Lagoon is hosting 8pm-2am event open to all one evening , DJs, entire park open and optional all u can drink VIP package. That is a better deal than $75 for 2 hours.

Got my tickets for 6th August. Had to use a VPN being from the UK

Would love to enjoy the atmosphere of TL at night, but without the tacky DJ nonsense. Too bad they don’t extend the operating hours in the summer to 10p or so. Of course that would cost Disney more so it’ll most likely never happen.😕 ETA: Bringing back water park APs would be nice too. In the meantime we’ll be enjoying Volcano Bay.

its not even the music as much as the endless DJ chatter; TYPHOON LAGOON ARE WE GONNA PARTY, LET ME HEAR YOOOOUUUUUU We did it a couple of years ago, before the plague obviously. It was OK at best. Empty wave pool and no wait for slides.
