Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park at Walt Disney World is expected to reopen January 2 2022, although Disney is yet to confirm its reopening.

Blizzard Beach, the only water park currently operating at Disney World, was expected to have its final day of operation on December 25 2021 before closing for its annual refurbishment. This has now been pushed back to January 1 2022 to give Disney an operational water park prior to the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon.

Disney and originally planned to reopen Typhoon Lagoon in late December, but delays to the refurbishment have pushed that slightly back.

Disney is yet to make any official announcement on its plans to reopen Typhoon Lagoon.

Based on previous year's refurbishments, Blizzard Beach will reopen in the spring, with Disney World then likely to operate both water parks for the first time since reopening from the COVID-19 shutdown.

Both of Walt Disney World's water parks closed along with the rest of Walt Disney World in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and have remained closed despite the main four theme parks reopening. Blizzard Beach initially reopened on March 7 2021.

It’s been considered many times for Blizzard Beach. Not sure why they don’t pull the trigger and only expand Typhoon.

I was about to wonder out loud if they would respond to Uni expanding their water park but then I remembered that we are talking about Disney. Lol

Actually it’s not random at all, it’s based on the “Partysaurus Rex” short about a bathtub party (it’s on Disney+). I don’t know how much will be cut this year, but we went back in 2018 and it was lots of fun.

We are still in the decade of mourning. No gator jokes. Also, Disney removed every single gator from the property and moved them to Lake Nona. Guests only need to contend with snakes now.

Can't you do that just about any evening in Florida? Oh, that Lagoon Gator... Never mind...

I've never heard of this before. Toy Story seems like an exceptionally random pick; shouldn't it be Stitch (if anyone)? Anyway, I'd love to be in the water park at night! I'll be watching the price. (...I want to meet Lagoona Gator...)

haha yes, that is what the official Disney site is currently saying - obviously wrong.

True. But IDU why they couldn't atleast run buses from the DS resorts? They ran direct buses to BB from CSR and the All Star resorts. Seems like a easy transition to do the same for SSR, OKW, and Port Orleans.
