Walt Disney World confirmed today that the free resort guest water park benefit will return for summer 2027. However, there is a significant change: guests staying at the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort will no longer be eligible.

What's Changing in 2027

The free water park admission on check-in day will continue for guests at Disney Resorts Collection hotels next summer. Fort Wilderness campsite guests, who currently qualify for the 2026 benefit, will be excluded starting in 2027.

Who Is Still Eligible

Guests staying at Disney Resorts Collection hotels remain eligible for the benefit. This includes:

  • Value Resorts
  • Moderate Resorts
  • Deluxe Resorts
  • Deluxe Villa Resorts
  • The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are separate from the Campsites and appear to still qualify based on Disney's announcement.

2026 Benefit Still Available

Fort Wilderness campsite guests can still use the free water park benefit this year. The 2026 dates run from May 26 to September 8. If free water park access matters to you, consider booking your campsite stay for this summer.

Dates for 2027 Not Yet Announced

Disney has not released specific dates for the 2027 benefit. The company said to "stay tuned for more information and dates."

Based on past years, expect a similar late May through early September window. We will update when Disney announces the official 2027 schedule.

Sadly the new DVC they are building next to the campsites is probably the first step.

I get the feeling Disney would love to do away with the campsites --probably don't generate enough revenue

I think you missed my meaning I know the campsites never close but the waterparks do

The majority of campsite guests weren’t utilizing this offer in the first place. Different demographic with different priorities than other WDW resort guests. Also the campsites don’t suffer from the same problem that inspired this offer originally. I’m not entirely sure how your vague solutions would solve the problem. Refunds at checkout? What?

Sucks to be you, Ft. Wilderness campers. You really are at the bottom of the Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Humphrey totem pole.

Except when hurricanes pass through

The campsites never close. Only the water parks close seasonally but the campsites are open year-round. ;)

Campsite guests are free to use the waterparks when they are closed ---sarcastic

Why? So actual FW customers can get the same perk everyone else does. It's not hard to identify ghost booking behaviors, nor is it extraordinarily difficult to systemize to eliminate the incentive. Give refunds at checkout.. Create minimum eligibility that makes it unattractive to do so.. lots of different ways you can make it less advantageous to abuse a perk in unintended ways.

I'm not advocating for forum users - I'm advocating for their actual paying guests they already have. The fact the company doesn't itself.. feels telling.

Why?

They could have but I’m sure it would not have made a difference. People here would have still complained if they singled out the campsites for a minimum number of nights.

I agree and thought the same thing, but probably more aggravation than it's worth.

Then they should have attached minimums to it vs excluding entire demos.
