Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Closing February 15, Both Parks Open for Summer 2026

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will close for refurbishment from February 15 through May 11, 2026, reopening on May 12.

The three-month closure follows Disney's standard water park maintenance schedule. Blizzard Beach, currently closed for its own refurbishment, will reopen on February 15 as Typhoon Lagoon closes.

Both Water Parks Open for Summer

Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will operate simultaneously throughout summer 2026, starting on May 12 with the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon. This gives you access to both water parks during peak season.

Blizzard Beach has been closed since early January for its annual refurbishment.

Walt Disney World Resort guests checking in between May 26 and September 8, 2026, can access either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on their arrival day at no extra cost.

How the Water Park Benefit Works

The water park benefit gives you admission to one Disney water park on your check-in day. You can visit the park before your room is ready, making it a good option if you arrive early.

To enter, use your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World Card at the water park entrance.

And all three were open at once believe it or not.

There was never a period where TL was the “only” water park. Before BB, River Country was still open. In fact all three parks existed at once for a few years.

For sure, if you only go three times a year and it takes away from your theme park day, it doesn’t make sense to purchase the water park add on. Unless you absolutely love mini golf or something! Selfishly I am happy that the perk will not be in place over spring break so that I can actually use my AP at the waterparks. I know that it is controversial, especially on this forum, but Disney seems to rarely make changes to improve the AP experience, and this is a significant improvement for us (though I do wish both parks were open for longer of course).

Well I don’t travel to WDW during that time. If it truely is only Memorial Day-Labor Day both parks are open looks like I’m going to save $109 on my next AP purchase. I don’t think $36 a visit is worth it, especially since this comes at the expense of theme park time, I’ll just stick to the theme parks. I miss when both parks were open spring break-Halloween. If they brought that back I would upgrade ($18 a day is much more palatable.)

All true except just due to weather, even though the theme parks are not as busy in summer as they used to be, there is still higher demand for the water parks in June July and August then Feb March and April.

surfsupdonJan 05, 2026

A "perk" for 3.5 months out of a possible 12 months. Ridiculous. And both water parks are now open all summer??! Isn't the summer season the new slowest season? Let’s get both water parks open for Feb, March, April, you know when the parks are packed. Or again in Oct, Nov. Both time periods with heavy crowds and nice weather.

Have they officially announced when typhoon reopens after closing in Feb? If not I think we can assume right on or immediately around may 26th.

Disney has announced dates in 2026 for the water park admission perk on check-in day - May 26 to September 8, 2026: Start your stay with a water park day! Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guests can enjoy water park admission on check-in day—included with your stay—for arrivals from May 26 to September 8, 2026.

DisneyFanatic12Dec 31, 2025

No, probably not. Possible, but not likely unfortunately. Hopefully they announce the exact dates soon, but I think they’re waiting to see when both parks can be open simultaneously again.

Back to the thread, so I don't get a free day during our spring break trip?

plutofan15Dec 31, 2025

Why?

AylaDec 31, 2025

I wouldn't.

DisoneDec 31, 2025

I think for a million I would consider it:)
