Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park is now closed for its seasonal refurbishment. The closure began September 9 2026, and no official reopening date for 2027 has been announced yet, though a spring 2027 reopening is likely based on past refurbishment timelines.

Blizzard Beach remains open and is currently the only water park option at Walt Disney World.

The free water park admission perk for Disney Resort guests on check-in day now applies to Blizzard Beach only, since it's the sole park operating during the closure.

Disney has announced Typhoon Lagoon will be temporarily closed for its seasonal break beginning September 9, 2026.
They seem to be going back to their old schedule, where they have both parks open during the busiest (and hottest) months of the year, then alternate closing one for annual refurbishment while always keeping one open (except if days get too cold). I think that makes sense. The problem was when they were in that cycle for a few post-Covid years of keeping one closed during the Summer. One water park is not enough capacity during the hottest months of the year.

Also closed starting in September due to lack of available qualified staffing.
