Jared Bush, co-director and writer of Encanto, has revealed that he is actively working on the upcoming Encanto ride being built as part of the Tropical Americas expansion at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

In a post on social media today, Bush shared:

"Flying home from Europe and my plane homework will be writing new dialogue for... the Encanto attraction at #DisneyAnimalKingdom which means new words for the magical, fantastical Familia Madrigal! You will not believe what the imagineers are cooking up."

This is the first confirmation that Bush is directly involved in scripting new dialogue for the attraction, which will be the first-ever Encanto ride-through experience when it opens in 2027.

Disney previously confirmed that the attraction will be located in the newly developed Tropical Americas land - set in a lush, story-rich environment inspired by Central and South America. Construction is already well underway, with recent aerial photos showing early work on the ride's show building.

No additional story or character details have been announced, but Disney has promised a deeply immersive experience with appearances by members of the Madrigal family.

Tiana's is a disaster for a very specific reason concerning the environment it is in. HBG and the new Pirates addition are impressive in isolation hampered by poor placement and context concerning their appearance.

He’s there the entire time.

Br0ckfordJul 01, 2026

Don't get me started on the hat box ghost 😤

WeNamedTheDogIndianaJul 01, 2026

I mean, we can all agree Tiana's is a disaster. Are any animatronic-heavy attractions that bad? Or are people still that salty about the skeleton pirate and Hatbox Ghost?

HMFJun 30, 2026

Indeed, especially since their track record with maintaining AA populated attractions is not that great right now on either coast.

This is why we don't talk about Bruno....

James AlucobondJun 30, 2026

Yes, which has been said directly to him many times, but he doesn’t really care to listen.

TrainsOfDisneyJun 30, 2026

Disney needs to stop caring about this. Create the best ride possible that guests who are a fan of the story will love. I don’t walk up to Alice and say “but the mad tea party is behind me so clearly this takes place after the tea party so why are following the rabbit?” This is how we get Tianas, and Frozen After, etc.

DCLcruiserJun 30, 2026

Isn't he behind the walls the entire time?

Brer PantherJun 30, 2026

If the ride is supposed to take place before/during the first act of the movie, why would Bruno be there?

Please do correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Lentesta say there was going to at least be one Bruno animatronic at some point in the ride either in the queue or the ride itself? I'm assuming we're getting a mixture of both screens and animatronics for this ride, but I'm guessing screens will be for some more "complicated" aspects of the ride I suppose?

Brer PantherJun 30, 2026

I expect there to be at least ONE Mirabel animatronic.

It’s cheaper…so you’ll see more of it
