Casa Madrigal Steel Structure Rises Above Construction Walls in Latest Tropical Americas Update

Our latest ground-level photos from the Tropical Americas construction site at Disney's Animal Kingdom show the most significant visual change yet at the entrance to the land — the steel structure for Casa Madrigal, the Encanto attraction's signature building, is now rising prominently above the construction barriers.

The volume of steelwork now in place is substantial, and the outline of the building is becoming clearly apparent from outside the walls. This is the structure that will eventually be clad and themed to become the Madrigal family home, set into a hillside above Pueblo Esperanza. For the first time, you can start to get a real sense of the building's scale and footprint from ground level.

Beyond Casa Madrigal, the photos show progress on several other fronts across the site. The steel framework for the Pueblo Esperanza entrance archway is clearly visible — one of the most recognizable elements from the concept art now taking shape in steel above the construction walls. Village building structures are framing up on either side, with roofwork progressing on multiple structures simultaneously.

Rockwork and landscape theming is visible through gaps in the construction walls, with scaffolding surrounding early-stage stonework and terrain detail. Roofing work is also underway on the Tropical Americas quick service restaurant, and the gift shop building is receiving attention to its front facade. Crews are also active on the carousel queue roof structure.

very happy to see you'll be able to see the hills off in the distance when approaching the enterence

They're supposed to be dropping in quite a few trees between the carousel and Casita, so the extent to which it will be visible from there may change.
You can also see a butterfly disguised in the one of the columns!

And lastly, steel for the rockwork on AFdE looks be going up!
Looks like some parts of the temple for IJ are gone from the test site

Found them!
Can't wait for someone to climb up there after downing too many Lamu Libations at Nomad Lounge.
truly phenomenal, very curious how they theme the already existing parts of the building, also the pyramid specifically is gonna look amazing at night, if the park is open that late . . .

The model at D23 showed that the walls to the left and right of the rockwork will look like crumbling ruins as well, just in a more neutral color scheme. You can see some of the framing going in for it now. I assume the wall behind the middle portion of the temple will get a similar treatment.
Looks amazing and I know it’s just exterior progress, but I still think this opens first (with the carousel) if there is a phased opening.
Fixed the model...

They are very very tight for 2027 on this from what I understand.

If I can ask two things, 1. Is it 2027 for the whole land or could AFdE get pushed for 2028? 2. If it is opening all at once in 2027, is it planned to be all open on the Fall or Winter of 2027?
I can’t wait for the artistry of this to be ruined by a bright green solar trash can.
