For the first time ever, TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom is set to drop below $20 for Lightning Lane Single Pass pricing tomorrow, November 21, 2024.

The record low of $19 marks a shift in the attraction's pricing strategy, which has maintained a minimum price of $20 since its debut as an Individual Attraction Purchase during the Genie+ era.

Historical Pricing Patterns

Since its opening, TRON Lightcycle Run remained fixed at $20 under Genie+ Individual Attraction Purchase and has followed a consistent dynamic pricing model under Lightning Lane Single Pass, typically ranging between $20 and $22. Tomorrow's price of $19 sets a new record low, signaling Disney's continued experimentation with demand-based pricing.

Why This Matters

First Price Drop Below $20: TRON has never been priced this low, offering guests an unexpected opportunity to experience Magic Kingdom's newest thrill ride at a slightly reduced cost.

Dynamic Pricing Trends: The shift below $20 reflects a broader trend of Disney using dynamic pricing to manage guest demand, potentially testing new pricing strategies ahead of the busy Thanksgiving and Christmas period.

TRON's Popularity and Crowd Dynamics

TRON Lightcycle Run remains one of Magic Kingdom's most popular attractions, with Lightning Lane passes frequently selling out on weekends and high-demand dates. However, as the holiday season approaches, Disney appears to be optimizing pricing to balance demand across multiple high-profile attractions, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Low Prices Elsewhere

November 21 is also set for equally record low prices for all other Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass purchases. Although there are no new record lows beyond TRON, this period before Thanksgiving offers guests some of the lowest prices for Disney's paid ride reservation system.

I thought you could only book 14 days. But if you can book 21, that would make sense.

In theory someone could have a 21 day stay starting 7 days from now and would therefore be able to book until the 28th.

How do we having pricing out through the 28th? When look I can see through the 22nd, which is 3 weeks from today.

Absolutely good news. But I’m sure they’ll “fix” this loophole in 2025 so it’ll just be a 1-year reprieve! Still, $132 is $132 and I’ll take the win, as well. Impressed at their restraint here.

Wow, this is actually phenomenally good news. This means the price did not increase versus Genie during the Christmas-New Years Holiday in 2023, however on top of that, you no longer need to pay the MK price to use it as a park hopper which means that for most people (like me) this represents a price decrease year over year between Christmas this year and Christmas 2023. For the 7 days I’ll purchase it this year between 12/21 & 1/3 for 4 people I’ll pay $960 before tax for my 3 MK days, 2 Epcot Days, 1 HS, & 1 AK (but I’m hopping every day so that AK price will get me some fast passes in MK that evening, etc.). By comparison in 2023 I paid $1,092 to purchase the multi-parks option for 7 days.

According to the price tracker from @wdwmagic, from December 24 through 27, it appears Lightning Lane Multi Pass will match the previous top price of Genie+ for all parks. Here's a look at upcoming pricing - find the full list at https://www.wdwmagic.com/genieprice.htm:

The parks are busy. But today is a MVMCP day and MK closes at 6 so it was a lower crowd day. The other 3 parks were plenty busy.

I think the only answer is that an extremely high % of guests bought LLMP at MK today out of fears of long lines due to thanksgiving week. However, because it's a party day (closes at 6pm) there are just not as many people in the park as they expected. DHS and AK look miserable today Resort wide wait times at 2:00pm 205: ROTR 100: TOT. SDD 85: RNRC 80:FOP 65: TSM, Soarin, Navi, MMRR, 60: Remy, Safari, Frozen 55: 7D, MFSR, Kali, Alien, 45: EE 35: Tron, Star Tours, SM, Nemo, Pooh Everything else is 30 mins or less.

These are nice low waits but as you say, the park is not busy. When the park is busy the wait times raise rapidly then add in a breakdown or two and its havoc.

I know you do, but I'm not talking about you. As you have repeatedly acknowledged, Disney guests are not the same as people who frequent standard amusement parks. I'm talking about the people who are Disney's target audience given how they decided to price structure their paid system.

I view those waits as nothing. We are used to waiting in 90-120 minute queues at other parks all summer.

Those standby numbers are ridiculous to some people, including me. Could it be that people buying the LLs are the reason standby is not as high as in the past? Wasn’t the goal to fix LLs so standby would move more quickly?

MK is in a weird place right now... Only LLMP/LLSP left are Barnstormer (4:15), Dumbo (instant), Small world (2:25), Tea party (instant), Aladdin (3:20), Philharmagic (instant), Monsters inc (instant), and Speedway (2:20pm) Which is absolutely wild because the highest waits in the park are: 60: Tron 55: 7D 50: Pan 35: JC 30: Space and Big Thunder 25: Barnstormer 20: Pooh, HM So the parks aren't busy, but FOMO made everyone buy LLMP/LLSP today. I can't believe Buzz/Pirates are sold out before noon on a day where all but 3 rides are under 40 mins in the park. LLMP looks like I would expect... but standby looks like a nice September weekday. Party days do very strange things.

This particular week has been busy (and actually busy, not someone's random definition of "the parks are busy") every year.
