A new Notice of Commencement has been filed for Toy Story Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios, pointing to upcoming work on the attraction, though details remain unclear.

The permit, filed with Orange County, lists the scope of work only as "General Construction" and carries an expiration date of September 26, 2025. The listed contractor is Adena Corporation, a long-time Disney construction partner known for working on various projects across Walt Disney World, including several recent attractions.

Disney's Facilities Asset Management (FAM) division is the party filing the permit, which usually suggests infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments, or operational improvements rather than a significant show change, which would be handled by WDI.

There's currently no indication of what the construction involves, and Disney has not announced any upcoming closures to Toy Story Mania.

I hope this work includes new projectors for the screens. Tracks A and B are in rough shape.

Could be. And there should be enough queue to work with where they could wall off some at a time to work on and thus the ride could remain operating. Taking this fully down in the middle of the summer sounds like a bad idea.

I hope they fix the walls that people keep tearing the stickers off of. And no. It’s not just kids. Full grown adults are doing it too.

No. Last I’d heard, it needed some queue work. Maybe this is that.

Doubt this would close during cool kids summer

I’d guess pretty low. Unless there’s a major issue that needs immediate attention, Disney is unlikely to shut something down this soon (especially in the summer). TSM has multiple tracks so they can partially shut down portions without a full closure. Of course this would have a significant effect on wait times. This could also be work on the exterior buildings themselves that don’t require any ride closure. 🤷‍♂️

What are the odds we think this ride is down for say June-September.

Really wish they gave us new games. The promise of screen based rides was the ability to update over time, but the last time this saw significant upgrades was when toy story 3 came out, right? That was 2010.

This is one of our favorite rides at Disney...my wife and I always challenge one another for the shooting gallery and the loser has to buy lunch! How fun!!!
