Magic Kingdom Files Wrecking Company Permit for Tomorrowland Bridge

Tomorrowland Bridge - May 2026

A new Notice of Commencement (NoC) permit has been filed for the Tomorrowland Bridge at Magic Kingdom, with D.H. Griffin Wrecking Company listed as the contractor.

The permit, filed today under a FAM-owned NoC, lists a scope of general construction. D.H. Griffin specializes in demolition, environmental remediation, infrastructure, and industrial contracting — suggesting the work may involve more technical or structural elements than a standard maintenance task.

A full demolition and rebuild of the bridge seems unlikely. The permit language and contractor choice point more toward structural or specialized repair work on the existing bridge.

The timing makes sense. The moat surrounding Cinderella Castle is currently drained to support the ongoing castle repaint project, giving crews easier access to bridge infrastructure that would normally sit above water.

There's no word yet on how long the bridge work will take or whether it will affect guest access during the construction period.

I’m assuming the white paint on Stitch is “temporary” until they do something else with the space. On the legs of the PeopleMover, I’m uncertain. Those actually concern me more because I have to imagine there’s some reason they didn’t revert those at the same time they reverted the canopy supports.

They have been slowly doing that for fifteen years now. They have also applied white paint to a lot of those elements though I am not sure if that is considered a stopgap or permanent fix on WDI's part. https://vocal.media/wander/the-tomorrowland-problem-part-2

It seems they are intent on removing all elements from that redo. Makes sense as it has been over 30 years since that last major update.

Definitely 94 remnants.

They’re remnants and were not original. The waterfall towers were not flanked by any such ornamentation.

I think... I think... it's 94 remnants.

Aren’t these all remnants from the 94 redo or have they always been there?

All these Disneyland fans who’ve spent years praying “Please work on Tomorrowland” should have really specified which one they meant

Could this be related to this??

You're right. They need an AI app to tell people where to stand.

We'll have no mention of common sense measures here, how can they differentiate the park experience of guests from the competition by making things easy to navigate and make sensible use of limited space ?

$89.99 is what I was told due to reusing the TNT. If it wasn’t for that, $129.99 was the plan. However, $89.99 is pocket change that poors can afford……….that’s a major 🚩 The price needs to be increased. It’s a demolition party, not a peasant party. We don’t need anyone peeing in the moat.

Depending on access requirements, they could refill more of the moat. They use temporary cofferdams, not something permanent like a lock, so they can just move where they want the water to stop. Things like access and getting in the way of other work. What would be unexpected, urgent but also safe to keep using every day? It’s possible it’s not something worth mentioning. Even if the bridge does close to guests, does that require a lot of notice? It’s not like people plan visits around walking on the Tomorrowland bridge.
