Tommorowland Transit Authority PeopleMover closed - July 2020

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover refurbishment has been extended through to at least April 3 2021.

The Magic Kingdom ride closed in the first week of March 2020 and has not reopened since. The reopening date has been moved back numerous times since the refurbishment began, and was most recently planned to be closed through February 28 2021.

The PeopleMover had been seen operating without guests on numerous occasions since the park reopened on July 11 2020, and testing has increased in frequency in recent weeks.

It's how they do it pre-closure and every time I've been on it for the past 5 years at least. You understand the point.

Always isn’t the word I would use.

That is definitely a take. One of the strangest takes I've seen, but it still qualifies as a take.

We could only hope.

Walk, stand, levitate... It's still an ascension 😉

Or they just turn it off and you walk up the ramp.

That's how they've always done it. There is a cm stationed at the bottom of the ramp telling you when you may ascend.

It’s called plexiglass

How can MK hope to maintain social distancing on the belt up and belt down? Would MK have a line and only permit riders to ascend when a CM at load area signals demand for new rider(s) group?

Or maybe, just maybe, not everyone is visiting these parks to go on the typical “thrill” ride and are thrilled to simply relax while taking in the sights around Tomorrowland on a ride that lasts more than 3 minutes. WDW used to have more attractions like this, but over the years have slowly and steadily disappeared.

They are clearly making progress. I don’t know if Disney has any idea when it will reopen, I’d venture to guess they don’t.

At this point after all the delays I think it is safe to say it opens when it opens. There appears to be the possibility of part supply issues and recurring issues with vehicles bumping. We'll see.

Do any insiders have any info on if this will open in April this time? Just curious if anyone knows what the problem is. If it was stated in this forum, my apologies; I haven't kept up on all 34 pages.
