Tomorrowland Arcade permanently closes at the Magic Kingdom

Tomorrowland Arcade, the Magic Kingdom's video game attraction, has now permanently closed.

Located at the exit of Space Mountain, February 9 2015 was the final day of operation for the Tomorrowland Arcade, with no indication of what may replace it.

Changes in Florida laws regarding bans on Internet Cafes that may potentially be applied to video game arcades that dispense prizes are speculated to be behind the decision to close. Disney has not made any official comment on the issue.

It is also expected that Disney will also close similar prize counters and games involving clawing for prizes at the resort hotels.

I think Disney was just concerned that this could be a problem and decided that the prize counters were not all that important to their business.

I'm confused.. if Disney says it was forced to get rid of their prize/ticket counters awhile ago because of the potential impact of some law that was passed.. how is Universal still able to offer it at their resort without a problem?

I don't either, but it may be a moot point, since Florida is considering legalizing pot (for medical reason) It's not a big jump from medical pot to recreational pot...as witnessed here in Colorado.
