Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom will close starting Monday, November 2, 2026, according to the refurbishment calendar in My Disney Experience. The closure also includes two adjacent locations: Critter Co-Op and Tiana's Bayou General.
Disney has not given a reason for the closure, and there is no listed reopening date yet. This will be the ride's first refurbishment closure since it opened in summer 2024.
Water rides take a beating in Florida's heat and humidity. Splash Mountain, the log flume ride that operated in this same spot for around 30 years, closed for maintenance on a near-annual basis. The mechanical systems, water treatment, and boat troughs all need regular attention to keep a ride like this running.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure uses similar ride mechanics to its predecessor, so a refurbishment along these lines isn't unusual.
The ride has also had ongoing issues with its Audio-Animatronics figures since opening. Several of the main figures throughout the attraction have had periods of downtime or reduced movement. This closure could give Disney a chance to address those Audio-Animatronics problems alongside the routine ride system maintenance
About Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Tiana's Bayou Adventure replaced Splash Mountain, which closed permanently in January 2023. Disney announced the retheme in June 2020, moving the attraction's story from Song of the South to the 2009 film The Princess and the Frog.
The ride sends guests through the bayou with Princess Tiana and Louis the alligator, searching for critter musicians ahead of a Mardi Gras celebration set in 1927. It kept the original ride's 50-foot drop and added 48 new Audio-Animatronics figures along with over 2,000 fireflies.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure opened to all guests on June 28, 2024.
