Posted: Friday June 14, 2024 9:44am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

As we move into the second day of Annual Passholder previews for Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, here's a detailed look back at the first day's Virtual Queue performance to help you plan your visit.

The 7 am Virtual Queue remained open for over two hours, while the 1 pm drop lasted for just 2.5 seconds.

The ride faced a delayed opening and multiple downtimes throughout the day, with notable interruptions occurring in the morning and early afternoon, affecting the overall pace of Boarding Group progression. The total downtime was just over 7 hours. Early in the day, the average pace was maintained at 5 minutes per BG, which accelerated to 2 minutes per BG after 7 pm. Despite these stoppages, the last Boarding Group of the day, 100, was called by 8 pm.

(Thanks to @gerarar on the WDWMAGIC Forums for compiling the stats)

Virtual Queue Availability:

  • 7 am: 2 hours and 2 minutes.
  • 1 pm: 2.5 seconds.

Boarding Group Information:

  • The last Boarding Group (BG) called for the day was BG 100 at 8 pm.
  • Until 5 pm: Average pace of 5 minutes per BG.
  • From 7 pm to Close: Average pace increased to 2 minutes per BG.

Notable Ride Stoppages:

  • 9:00 am - 11:40 am: A significant downtime of 2 hours and 40 minutes.
  • 1:28 pm - 4:15 pm: Another substantial downtime of 2 hours and 47 minutes.
  • 5:04 pm - 6:15 pm: Downtime of 1 hour and 11 minutes.
  • 6:21 pm - 6:50 pm: A shorter downtime of 29 minutes.

No, I don’t imagine so.

But, using your numbers, you have BG 115 you got from the 1pm drop for Tiana's. And that doesn't get called until 8pm - at the 6pm drop will you be able to get one for either Tiana's or Tron since you are still holding an active BG?

Final Day 26 Stats (7/17): 7am: 12.0 secs 1pm: 1.7 secs* *the morning 7am drop lasted longer than afternoon 1pm drop BG 150 (+45) is the last BG called for the day at 8:53pm. Notable stoppages: 9:00 - 9:33am Average pace: 5mins/BG VQ Drop Mean/Average: 7am: 4.2s -> 6.8s (+2.6s) 1pm: 26.3s -> 18.1s (-8.2s) That does it for Day 26 of Tiana's Bayou Adventure!

Typically the BGs issued at 7 am and 1 pm expire at park close and then the new 6 pm groups begin with the switch to evening hours. So, if 140 BGs are released during the day but they only get to 124 by park close, they will then move on to the deluxe resort BGs for the extended hours (presumably skipping to group 141. Groups 125-140 would be notified that they cannot be accommodated).

But the my Disney experience app doesn’t reflect this yet.

Saw it posted that Tiana's will be part of deluxe extra evening hours but will be on a VQ for then too so at 6pm will be able to do try for the VQ for Tiana's or Tron Not sure how it will work if you are still holding a BG at 6pm - if it will prevent you from getting either or if this is a separate "slot" and you could still have a BG from the day time VQs and a separate one from the Evening Hours VQ

My family went on last night. I thought the ride was very well done. Different from Splash centered more on a joyful and uplifting experience. Some of the dialogue was clunky and repetitive, “those boys can play”. But I thought it was a really fun experience with an improved finale. Madam Odie steals the show.

7am drop lasted for 12.037 secs. Wednesday 7am Drop Average: 4.2s -> 6.8s (+2.6s) BG's 1-15 called at 9:33am as part of the initial wave.

Theoretically, given the typical average of 5mins/BG, they should be able to get through 144 BG's in a 13-hour day (9am - 10pm minus 1 hour at the end). 12 hours x (1 BG / 5 mins) x (60 mins / 1 hour) = 144 BG's. The ride was closed for about 6 hours today. So 144 BGs - (6 hours x (1 BG / 5 mins) x (60 mins / 1 hour) = 144 BGs - 72 BGs = 72 BGs. So they should've at a minimum gone through 72 BGs, which they exceeded. This obviously doesn't include the initial wave of BGs when the ride first opens and the final wave called at the end of the day. So 105 BGs is a good number despite the downtime today.

Given the start, BG 105 isn't bad
