The Walt Disney Studios courtyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios is looking close to complete, with a flurry of finishing touches added over the past week and new movie posters going up today.
The vintage-style mural recreating the iconic Hyperion Studio rooftop sign is now fully complete on the Studio Theater building. The finished mural features classic Mickey Mouse standing above the painted sign.
The design recreates the sign that sat atop Disney's original Hyperion Studio in Los Angeles, where Mickey Mouse was created and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was produced.
The building's entrance now has a new "STUDIO THEATER" sign mounted above the covered queue, with dimensional white lettering in a clean Art Deco style.
Two large-format movie posters were installed on the Studio Theater building today:
- A vintage-style Lady and the Tramp poster
- A Tangled theatrical poster
More posters are being added to the Disney Jr building opposite.
A new studio-lot style directional sign post has been installed in the courtyard, featuring character medallions alongside street name-style labels. The sign lists:
- Dopey Drive
- Mickey Ave
- Animation
- In Btween
- Multiplane
The street names reference classic Disney animation terminology — "in-betweening" and the multiplane camera are both foundational techniques from the golden age of Disney animation.
The Walt Disney Studios courtyard and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! open May 26 — now less than two weeks away. No opening date has been announced for The Magic of Disney Animation building beyond later Summer 2026.
