Disney has started casting performers for "Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!," the new stage production debuting in summer 2026 at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

According to Disney Live Entertainment, the show will feature upbeat original songs, interactive moments tailored to young children, and appearances from beloved Clubhouse characters including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto. The story centers on Mickey and Minnie hosting a party at Mickey's house, only to discover their friends haven't arrived. They take the party on the road, leading to a musical, high-energy finale once everyone reunites.

The show draws inspiration from both "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and the newer "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+" series, blending familiar characters with a fresh stage approach designed specifically for younger audiences.

Disney's Casting Needs

Disney is seeking vibrant, energetic vocalists and actors who can comfortably engage with children in a live-performance setting. The casting call highlights several qualities:

  • Friendly presence and strong audience connection
  • Improvisational ability
  • Comfort with current pop dance styles
  • Dynamic stage personality suited for interacting with Mickey, Minnie, and the full Clubhouse crew

The primary role listed is The Show's Host, described as a youthful, quirky performer with strong comic timing. This Host will guide the audience through the story, singing and dancing alongside Mickey and Minnie as they travel to find Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto.

The debut of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will be one of the first entertainment offerings to open in the reimagined Walt Disney Studios area, which replaces Animation Courtyard beginning in summer 2026.

Disney Animation-Inspired Experience Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

That was, to be fair, before modern costume design caused everyone and their grandma to become familiar with exactly 1 style of Mickey! And thankfully so. These things are just nightmare fuel... Don't look up what they did with Pluto. You may never sleep again.

Does he have the power to manifest nightmares?

Is that Jerry Colonna, the actor/comedian who worked with Bob Hope?

Guests seem very accommodating of the weird...

Who's never gotten a costume and likely never will, thank God... Too many guests would have too many weird questions if they had one meeting guests.

Seems to me like this project uses (at least) some of the unused Play!P ideas and concepts. Inside themed character meet and greets, characters coming to life, and play areas. I'm sure there will be a similar TTwC idea as well. This may have been discussed already but I got lost in the Star Wars talk.

I know/knew....but I was just arguing that "a" reason for Mickey's prevalence is trademark-related imio.

My post wasn't about copyright or trademark.

I read up on this profusely (especially WSJ when it was a vastly better publication than today) around the time (before & after) the "Mickey Mouse Protection Act" (1998) was being passed. Although every passing year (in perpetuity) more individual Disney films, etc. will become "public domain," Disney owns the trademarks forever, and no one else can make a Mickey, etc. if people can easily be led to believe it was made by Disney. Hence all the horror films with Mickey, Pooh, etc. That's safe. However, I remember also reading that this was with the expectation Disney consistently "uses" their Trademark (if you don't use it, you can lose it!) For example, it was not long after the legislation passed I noticed Mickey a lot more often on TV: Mouse Works, House of Mouse, Clubhouse, Racers, Paul Rudish,, etc. Whereas not long before Disney didn't even show him in a 1993 Bonkers episode about Mickey. Arguably from one extreme to the next. Nevermind all the other Mickey offerings "through the 'ears" (sorry couldn't resist!),. Today is a far cry from when Mickey was mostly found either in a parade or if you were in the right place/right time for a "meet & greet" (especially between when MMR closed in 1980, and 1988 when Birthdayland opened). If anyone "pushes back" on this (or if I get time) I'll try to re-pull my sources.
