Significant visible progress has been made at The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as Disney prepares for the show’s grand debut on May 27, 2025. The newly installed marquee sign is now in place above the entrance, marking a major milestone in the transformation of the former Voyage of the Little Mermaid venue.

Entrance Area Fully Prepped

In addition to the marquee installation, several elements have been added to the theater’s entrance area in recent days:

  • The rolling planters that previously blocked access to the entrance have now been removed.
  • A standby entrance clock and a Lightning Lane return clock have both been installed.
  • Signage updates and exterior cleaning appear to be complete, giving the theater a refreshed appearance.

These changes suggest that the theater is now functionally ready for the next phase—more technical rehearsals or soft previews ahead of the official opening later this month.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is a completely reimagined stage show featuring updated musical arrangements, large-scale puppetry, motion-capture animation, and immersive set design. The production includes familiar songs such as Part of Your World, Kiss the Girl, and Poor Unfortunate Souls, and promises a modern take on Ariel’s story told through her unique point of view.

The show is scheduled to operate daily from 9:15 AM to 7:15 PM and will offer Lightning Lane access through both the Multi Pass and Premier Pass options. No individual Lightning Lane Single Pass is expected to be required.

With the marquee now installed and the entrance area fully staged for operation, it appears Disney is on track and nearing the final steps before opening the doors to guests on May 27.

Show was an absolute delight, I really hope we see more of the transparent screen projections in the future because it offers some incredible depth to a stage show

Then again, few live Disney shows expect a performer to belt out a 10-minute show-stopper with a three octave range.

You here vocal flubs, sharps and flats on Broadway all the time. Never at a Disney stage performance.

You would be surprised by note perfect people who do theatre professionally can be. It is rare you hear any mistake that would be noticeable to the audience on Broadway or in touring productions and Disney does a lot of show casting from the exact pool of people who’ve been training for years to go into those roles. For a lot of these actors, this will be a stepping stone to those avenues. These are not just random folks who auditioned on a whim.

Saying that is a disservice to the talented CMs. Anyways..., as someone that watches a ton of recorded videos of the live stage shows at WDW, there are instances where the performer is off key, but they recover. It's very rare though. I've seen a couple at BATB and FOTLK. It's much more prominent in the outdoor shows that involve physical activity. For example here's one from Jollywood Nights during the Glisten show:

I heard a bad note sung during the "I See the Light" portion of Luminous but, somehow, that was pre-recorded and someone actually thought it sounded good!

I saw it last week. It was not running on a regular schedule. I missed getting in and was told try later in the day. I got in right before I left for the day. It's an improvement on the old show. I enjoyed it. It occurred to me that I've never heard a bad note sung at a Disney stage performance ever so they must be using auto-tune and pitch correction at these shows. That is when they are not lip-syncing
