New Permit Filed for Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room at Magic Kingdom

A Notice of Commencement was filed this week for an address that maps to the Enchanted Tiki Room at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

The permit lists PCL Construction as the contractor and carries an expiration date of November 4, 2026 with the scope of "General Construction". The owner on the filing is Facilities Asset Management (FAM), not Walt Disney Imagineering.

A FAM-owned permit points to facility or infrastructure work rather than changes to the show. PCL is one of Disney's major construction partners and often appears on large-scale projects, which makes the filing stand out.

Disney has not yet announced any planned downtime for the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Yeah and this entire thread is dedicated to an article that assumes PCL being on the project means it must be something big and noteworthy.

Sorry, but it seems disingenuous to complain that this sparked speculation. There and has been for years an entire thread dedicated to permit filings and they don’t generally spark a run of speculation. This permit was treated differently, being given a write up and thread, so of course people reacted to it being treated differently and assumed something was different.

Seems like way too much of a stretch for me. All you get is Chicken Little syndrome. If Disney says they're going to re-theme the attraction there will be something concrete to discuss.

Can this thread just be locked at this point? The permit isn't to replace show elements, so the rampant, progressive speculation by a few elements is unwarranted.
