The reimagined Test Track presented by Chevrolet will open at EPCOT in 2025.

Announced during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to push innovation forward and celebrate humanity’s enduring drive on the thrilling road to a brighter tomorrow.

Test Track will celebrate today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future. The queue will feature six distinct exhibits, and within each room celebrate the vehicles – and people behind the vehicles – that push the envelope and help get people to our next chapter in our motion journey.

New show scenes will be added showcasing technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. Enjoy a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization and personalization. Followed by a trip through a scenic outdoor route reminding us all of the joys of driving, taking in the world around us and spending quality time with friends and family.

Was at Epcot on Friday. Nothing really of note to look at, but I heard them testing the ride vehicles all morning.

I know, it just feels like World of Motion is a weird choice for nostalgia bait. Plus, even though Disney fans have nostalgia and a strong love for park-originals, Disney only ever seems to do merch for Figment and the Haunted Mansion. Everything else gets maybe a cup or a t shirt every few years, if it isn't sharing said singular merch piece with other things as a general parks-themed item.

Ah ok I see that now... bit by bit... :)

Mostly, but the decorative paneling in progress on the left and right sides is more recent.

didn't it look like this a month ago?

I do also think there could be some nods in the queue maybe even elements of the song in the queue ... but yeah, will be more about "celebrating transportation" vs recreating scenes

think of how much more glow tape they can apply in an additional hundred days!

Because some Disney fans live on nostalgia and it sells. See Figment…

Fair. I took the inspiration as the set design and maybe the song coming back, but if it’s just a generic “wow aren’t vehicles great?” then why even use WoM to bait nostalgia?

I don't think it ever was supposed to. I think what they meant by "Inspired by World of Motion" was that the overall tone and message of the attraction would be similar (which can be seen by how they say specifically the optimism of world of motion), but the set dressing and plot would be its own original thing for Test Track.

I’m starting to think it’s not gonna be like World of Motion at all, lmao

It's the third iteration of basically the same concept, so yeah I wonder if they aren't trying to oversell it. Also, does GM have input on marketing up to the opening?

I feel like Disney is treating this more like a standard refurbishment rather than a new attraction. And if so, I have no idea why they would considering its the only new "ride" they have opening this year.
