Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland will expand its timeline starting April 29, 2026, bringing characters and stories from multiple Star Wars eras to Batuu for the first time.
Multiple Eras Coming to Batuu
The expansion will introduce storylines from the Galactic Civil War and New Republic periods alongside the existing Age of the Resistance setting. You'll see characters like Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo walking through Black Spire Outpost.
The changes will roll out across the land with new props, updated graphics, and music from John Williams' Star Wars film scores playing throughout the area.
Character Encounters
Darth Vader will arrive on Batuu searching for Luke Skywalker, accompanied by Imperial Stormtroopers.
Luke Skywalker will roam the outpost looking for information about the Force, lightsabers, and kyber crystals.
Leia Organa will appear near the Millennium Falcon, recruiting help to keep Luke safe.
Han Solo will spend time around his ship, drawn to the local cantina.
These new arrivals will join existing characters like Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian and Grogu, and R2-D2. Rey will continue operating in the Resistance camp area.
Music and Atmosphere
John Williams' scores from the first six Star Wars films will play throughout the land. You'll hear the "Main Title" and Force Theme in the entrance tunnels, with tracks like "Han Solo and the Princess" and "The Desert and the Robot Auction" playing as you explore. "Cantina Band" will continue at Oga's Cantina.
Shop Updates
Several establishments will reflect the expanded timeline:
- First Order Cargo becomes Black Spire Surplus, selling Imperial and Rebel artifacts from the Galactic Civil War
- Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities will display different historical items
- Droid Depot will be run by an earlier Mubo family generation prototyping BB-series droids
- Savi's workshop remains operational for lightsaber building
Existing Attractions Continue
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will continue operating. Food offerings like blue milk and ronto wraps stay available. The nighttime shows "Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga" and "Fire of the Rising Moons" will continue on select evenings.
Some enhancements may appear over the next couple months before the official April 29 debut.
What About Disney's Hollywood Studios?
Disney has not announced any changes to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. Since the two lands share nearly identical layouts and attractions, the timeline expansion could potentially come to the Hollywood Studios version in the future.
