Disney’s BDX Droids, the free-roaming animatronic characters that debuted at Disneyland, are set to make their way to Walt Disney World later this year. The interactive droids will also debut at Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland as part of future park expansions.

BDX Droids first appeared at Disneyland in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where they impressed guests with their fluid movements and lifelike interactions. These advanced animatronics are designed to freely navigate park walkways, interacting with guests and enhancing the immersive Star Wars experience.

At Walt Disney World, the BDX Droids are expected to debut in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Galaxy’s Edge, though Disney has not yet announced an exact launch date. Details on the deployment timeline for Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland are also pending.

Disney’s expansion of these cutting-edge animatronics reflects ongoing efforts to bring more interactive experiences to theme parks worldwide. Keep an eye out for updates as Disney reveals more details about when and where you can encounter the BDX Droids later this year.

I'm curious how this will all play out. The way they worded things during the presentation, it sounded like there are just one set of these Droids that will be rotating between the parks, vs a set permanently for each park.

Is this blog Mickey's child? It's kind of funny a video highlighting such general lack of parenting.

yeah, sort of my worry. I know generally guests are better about things like this at DLR - or at least more used to roaming characters just worried they have them but have to keep them behind a fence or something but hey, at least WDW is getting them!

Nothing that putting that little cattle prod R2 has on all of these won’t fix.

Oh they tried it at DL with Jake the Droid as a test run and realized that annoying kids will *gasp* touch things and be rude..And they dropped it for a few years..

Glad they are coming to WDW and not just Disneyland will be interested to see how implemented and to keep them from getting swarmed by people

'Bout time! Now let's just get them in there by July! I want to see my 3 yr old nephew's face when sees them. That's like a classic Disney moment and a very GRUNTLING development.
