Splash Mountain's annual refurbishment is much shorter than usual in 2016, with just 4 days of downtime in the New Year.

The refurbishment begins on January 10 through to January 14, reopening to guests on January 15 2016.

All current and upcoming refurbishments.

It was quite short. It'll probably be in shabby shape by August and require another three-monther in 2017.

Isn't it usually longer than 5 days? Like usually 3-4 weeks? This just seems pretty short for the annual shut down.

Nothing fancy. It always goes down around this time of year for the yearly maintenance items including draining the whole ride, checking systems, repairing things, quick updates, etc... All rides at some point or another go down for small time like this through out the year. Many tend to happen during less crowd times.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they drain it around this time every year.

It goes down every year this time. Probably routine maintenance that can't be done overnight.

does anyone know how the splash mountain refurb went or what was even done in the 5 days it was down?
