Update, 6pm: Space Mountain has reopened after being closed most of the day. The attraction is back up in time for tonight's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Space Mountain has been closed all day at Magic Kingdom, with no reopening as of 5:30 pm August 7 2026. Disney posted a notice in the My Disney Experience app apologizing for the closure and confirming cast members are working to get the attraction running again.
The closure follows a rough stretch for the Tomorrowland coaster. Yesterday, Space Mountain was only running on one track, pushing wait times up to 175 minutes, close to three hours. Today's full closure is a step further, with the ride unavailable for the entire day so far.
Today also marks the first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party of the season. Guests holding party tickets tonight don't yet know if Space Mountain will reopen in time for the event.
The in-app message, signed by Magic Kingdom Vice President Sarah Riles, apologizes on behalf of the team and encourages guests to check out other attractions in the park while Space Mountain remains down.

On behalf of the entire team at Magic Kingdom, I'd like to apologize that Space Mountain is currently unavailable. Our Cast Members are working diligently to get the attraction up and running again, and we are sorry you are not able to experience this attraction at this time. I hope you will enjoy some of our other attractions during your experience in the park today.

Disney has not said whether Space Mountain will be available during tonight's hard-ticket event. If you have party tickets for tonight, keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app for updates closer to the party's start time.
