Soarin' Across America Passholder Previews Begin Today at EPCOT — May 19, 2026
Soarin' Across America passholder previews begin today at EPCOT, with DVC members following on May 21 and the official public opening set for May 26.

Soarin' Across America opens to Annual Passholders today, May 19, as the first guests get their chance to ride the new film ahead of the official public opening on May 26.

Passholder previews run today and tomorrow, May 20, with DVC members getting their own preview day on May 21. After that, there's a gap of four days before the official opening — May 22 through May 25 remain unaccounted for on Disney's published schedule. Whether the attraction soft opens to all guests during that window hasn't been announced or confirmed, but it wouldn't be unusual for Disney to run additional preview capacity in the days leading up to an official opening date.

If you're planning to visit EPCOT between May 22 and May 25 hoping to ride, it's worth trying — but don't count on it until Disney confirms something either way. We'll update as soon as we have more information.

How to get in during passholder previews

No separate booking or Lightning Lane is needed. Passholders can join the standby queue during normal park operating hours, subject to capacity. You'll need:

  • A Walt Disney World Annual Pass with valid admission on the preview date
  • A theme park reservation for EPCOT if arriving before 2pm
  • No active blockout dates on your pass for May 19 or 20

DVC members have their preview day on May 21.

Soarin' Across America

The new film takes you on a 4 minute 50 second hang glider flight across more than a dozen American locations, opening with an Artemis rocket launch from Kennedy Space Center and closing with a nighttime flight over EPCOT itself. In between you'll cover New York Harbor, the New England coastline, Washington D.C., the Louisiana bayous, the Appalachian heartland, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, the great plains, Alaska, Hawaii, and Los Angeles at night.

The preshow brings back Patrick Warburton, now promoted to captain. The queue, show room, and seating are unchanged from the previous version. The new National Geographic trivia challenge in the queue adds something to do while you wait.

Full first impressions, a complete POV video, and a location-by-location breakdown are available in our review.

Annual Passholder previews for Soarin' Across America are underway at EPCOT today, ahead of the May 26 public opening. DVC members get their own preview day on May 21, and May 22 through 25 remain unscheduled — worth attempting if you're in the park, but nothing is confirmed for those dates yet.

We rode it last weekend! It was nice! Very patriotic 👏👏
We are annual pass holders. They did a special preview. We came across it by accident after we rode living with the land. It was a great surprise 😊

"Fast, very fast."
I am sure somewhere this has been answered but is this only for the summer or will it be for the rest of the year?

This might help. :)
Don't they have four theaters?

Just have each one show a different one duhhh.

Or like, half Across America, half Around the World, and have California for events.

Three.

I think they updated the projectors so they needed new higher res footage. Plus splitting what is showing creates daily/weekly maintenance headaches. What gets put in the scent generator tanks is specific to each film.

Anyone else seeing this guy?

Anyone?

Off topic....apparently Walt Disney attempted to get the film rights to LOTR, but was shot down by Tolkien himself.

I recognize his talent, but it has always seemed to me hopelessly corrupted. Though in most of the ‘pictures’ proceeding from his studios there are admirable or charming passages, the effect of all of them is to me disgusting. Some have given me nausea... - J.R.R. Tolkien

Makes me wonder how he'd react to Amazon's "Rings of Power".

I wonder if they edited it down from a longer version at the last minute to match the length of the previous version. Pretty sloppy if that's the final product they're delivering (assuming the "official" opening date of May 26 stands). I can't imagine the entirety of Imagineering is unaware of how jarring it is.

I realize it's unlikely, but perhaps they are re-timing the score and didn't have it ready in time for previews.

Well, since Jerry Goldsmith died in 2004, I'd say it's pretty impressive they were able to get anything out of the guy at all!

(The music for Soarin America and Soarin World were arranged by Bruce Broughton, btw. Lots of great scores for Disney rides, like HISTA, Timekeeper, Ellen's Energy Adventure, the latest Spaceship Earth redo, etc.)

This isn't one of the great ones.

I actually really enjoy the World score, maybe just cause I'm partial to Broughton's work ever since I found him through The Orville. I think the problem has to do with mixing. Whoever they have mixing it made some errors with the transitions.
Obviously, nothing can live up to the original score. But I just watched Soarin America again. Seems like a pretty good mix to me with each scene having an element of the Soarin score in it. We're spoiled because of each variation in the original. I found America's score better than World but obviously not better than Over California.
